In this review I just want to inform the difference between the international edition and the professional edition.The international edition has 20 chapters and the professional edition has 28 chapters. The chapters that are not covered in the international edition are:- Intake structures- Wells- Chemical handling and storage- Removal of specific constituents- Drinking water plant process selection and Integration- Storage and distribution systems- Sanitary Sewer design- Clean water plant process selection and integrationI thought that this was important information in case that someone is thinking in buy one edition or the other. I noticed that until I bought the international edition.

This is the book to get if your are mystified by sometimes hard to follow MWH and/or Metcalf books so common for undergrad/grad courses. Best out there for water and waste water engineering; if your Professor has chosen this book for class you are in good hands!For Professionals it is a great reference/reminder text. What it lacks in some "theory" it more than makes up for with practical application and input from fellow professionals.A MUST.

I use the book as a reference, not a text. It seems to contain the information that I need. For example, I recently needed a better understanding of the shape and general design of launders. The subject was adequately covered. However, I did not find a good discussion of the content (chemical and biological) of wastewater - although there is extensive discussion of treatment processes applicable to things that might be in wastewater.

This book was well packaged for delivery, arrived in great shape.Assessment of book material quality was accurate.Would buy from this seller again.

I had to buy this for a class, but now that I'm out of school, I find myself going back to reference this book all the time.

Great book, lots of valuable information, for all professionals and starters in the water treatment, explains important technics for different processes used in water treatment

Bought this book to help me study for the Civil PE. The good news, it seems to cover all the topics on the water resources of the exam. My big problem with the book is the units - the book discusses water engineering in the US, but all the units are SI (metric). For my work, we never use metric (except for lab data), and the PE mostly does not test in metric. Hard to study the problems in the book because of the units.

Detailed and useful book.

This is about a 3.5-4 for me. Others have covered more thoroughly what's in the chapters so I'll just highlight pros and cons.PROS- Only textbook I could find which would give coverage of both water and wastewater in the same volume- Very clear and simply described detail of the processes of water and wastewater treatment; it is a very readable textbookCONS- I got the kindle edition and it is not particularly well organised in my opinion - hard to tell where water ends and waste begins, it feels like chapters are thrown together a bit randomly in some circumstances- There are little snippets of advice 'from the coalface' so to speak which are very useful as best practice, but these are very infrequent, would really like to have seen more- It is getting old... although fundamentals remain unchanged I think technology has moved a bit since writing and I would caution that you make sure you've covered anything which is missed here
