great medication - read the directions and do research!
this flea medication works! a few things to note that i’ve seen in the reviews and it doesn’t seem like people do too much research - not to be abrasive but don’t miss out on a good product because people don’t read. this product is easy to use, effective, and provides protection from all life stages of fleas when used continuously. 1. your dog is still itching after you apply the medication because they have flea bites. they will continue to itch for a few days or weeks until the bites are gone. you can use a oatmeal or anti itch shampoo to help. itching doesn’t necessarily mean continuing biting. 2. you need to get it on to their skin and follow the directions which includes continuing in a line down their back from collar to beginning of tail. 3. if you have an active infestation you should couple this product with a oral medication. it is safe to mix most oral and topical preventatives/treatments. you also need to wash their bedding and vacuum. you can treat these items with diatomaceous earth - put it on bedding or carpet and then vacuum it up. if you don’t feel like doing this just throw the stuff away. you also need to empty your vacuum canister in a bag and take it to the garbage for best results. you should also bathe your dog, it is acceptable to do this with dawn dish soap which is especially effective for fleas. 4. fleas have a life cycle so if you are struggling with an infestation you probably need to repeat the above directions in #3 every week for about 6 weeks in order to kill the fleas. you should readminister an oral medication once a week as well that kills adult fleas. 5. yes dogs die from preventative flea medication. they also die from tapeworms that they get from fleas and fleas are miserable and pesky. it is a cost benefit analysis. dogs die from all sorts of flea medication, generic, oral, topical, or collars. it is a possibility that is listed in the information on this preventative - people don’t think it’ll be their dog. one of my dogs gets seizures from oral flea medication which is why we practice prevention from everyone else in the house and we have her on topical only. 6. this is a generic version of a brand name product. it is the same dosage and ingredients as frontline. the big makers of pet medications have spent billions of dollars in advertising and litigation to make generic pet medications difficult to find and utilize. this is worth a try and it’s a great value for the price.

You get what you pay for - does not work.
We used this flea and tick prevention for about a year and a half on our dog. Properly followed the application instructions and ensured we were using the right size for our dogs weight. It seemed to work well for ticks - I would find dead ticks in his crate after going on a hike. We put our dog into obedience classes recently and a short while into that he started itching like crazy. He licked his paw raw and scratched his head into a hot spot. All said and done he spent three weeks in a cone, and since we'd just switched him off of puppy food we assumed he had a protein allergy to the new food. We've since gone through two foods with little improvement. Tonight I saw a flea. Something we hadn't even considered since he was on this flea and tick prevention that seemed to be working well. I'm disappointed in ourselves that we were blind to this and trying to treat a food allergy, but most of all I'm frustrated that this product has allowed live fleas to live on an otherwise healthy, well groomed dog throughout multiple applications. In short: I suspect this product helped limit what seems to be a relatively minor flea infestation, but it does not prevent fleas as advertised.

Affordable PREVENTATIVE
The price is hard to beat, and it worked FLAWLESSLY for prevention. But I forgot to reorder for my dog that is a different weight range than the rest, and we of course had fleas within a week. With an ACTIVE infestation, this is much less effective because it wears off significantly by 2-3 weeks (typical of flea drops in general) But once the infestation is over with I will go back to using this because it is so much more affordable than bravecto chews. I do wish they these had a snap off top instead of needing to be cut with scissors.

Must have for your dogs
Works great for my dog with sensitive skin. Better than the stuff I used to get from the vet that broke my wallet. Affordable and more efficient

Flea and Tick Topical Treatment for Large Dogs
### 5-Star Review for Amazon Basics Flea and Tick Topical Treatment for Large Dogs (45-88 pounds), Unscented, 3 Count ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This stuff is a game-changer for any dog owner dealing with ticks! My fluffy Samoyed is an absolute adventure junkie—she loves bounding through bushes and tall grass on our daily hikes, which means we've been battling a constant tick invasion. I was at my wit's end with all the bites and worries about Lyme disease. Enter this Amazon Basics topical treatment: I applied it once, and boom—instant relief! The ticks vanished overnight, no more creepy crawlies latching on. It's unscented, so no weird smells lingering on her fur, and it held strong for a full month without any issues. Super effective, fast-acting, and long-lasting protection that gives me total peace of mind. At this price for a 3-pack, it's an absolute steal. Highly recommend for medium to large breeds—your pup will thank you! If you're on the fence, just get it. 10/10 would repurchase.

Identical formulation, fraction of the cost!
I found this formulation to be absolutely identical to the "high-priced spread", as we used to say (yeah, I'm a Boomer.) Thank you, Amazon, for offering a quality, easy to apply product at a fraction of the cost!
