Good and entertaining reading for the mystery buff
These are short stories, which I really enjoy reading. I actually think I enjoy the short stories more than the Lord Peter books. You can sit down and read as few or as many as you like at one time. I admire Dorothy Sayers as a writer. She has a wonderful knack for writing mysteries which are within the realm of possibility but adds her good mystery twists and turns.

Great for getting a taste of Sayers
These short stories are a great introduction to Lord Peter Wimsey and Dorothy L. Sayers. She is a great writer and a master of the mystery. The characters are well-drawn and interesting, the stories tight and to-the-point. Her command of the English language is such a pleasure. Go on to read her full novels and you will love them.

One of my favs!
I have been a HUGE Peter Wimsey fan since seeing Ian Carmichael play him on PBS. I picked up one of the books -- don't remember which one -- and I was hooked. While some have accused Dorothy L. Sayers of writing a Mary Sue (a story or book where the author is almost exactly like the main female character) & that Lord Peter is simply too good to be true (he does EVERYTHING well), I still enjoyed the books immensely. The short stories were interesting and kept me on my toes. If you are a fan of the British mystery novel set in the 20s, 30s or 40s, then these stories will fill the bill.

If you havenโt met Lord Peter this is a wonderful way to make his acquaintance.
If you canโt get enough of a fix with A. Conan Doyle let Dorothy Sayers be on your reading list. A wonderful collection of early British detective fiction. Not as dark as Holmes, Lord Peter has taken a fancy to solving crimes with style. A great compliment to any collection of the genre. This is my third copy. I keep giving it away to people whom I know will read them more than once. If youโre traveling let Lord Peter Death Bredon Wimsey accompany you in this fine collection of short stories.

Great Escapist reading!
As a lover of short stories AND mysteries, I enjoyed reading this book. Sayers is a talented writer, and Lord Peter is a certified character. A caveat to new readers: if you (like me) like the short story format because you don't have the willpower to put down a long book, better set your alarm clock. You come to the end of one Lord Peter story and can't resist starting the next one!

Lord Peter's Incomplete Stories
This product is misrepresented as the complete Lord Peter Wimsey Stories. This it is not! I originally bought it thinking it was a series of volumes including the full length novels of Lord Peter. It is in fact The Complete Short Stories ....... Having said all this it is worth having as it collects all the short stories in one volume. If you like Dorothy Sayers you will like these not so short stories which include some fascinating plots.

a nice introduction to Lord Peter Wimsey stories
I enjoy Agatha Christie's work and thought to try this collection of Dorothy Sayers' short stories before buying any of her other books in the Lord Peter Wimsey series. These stories are engaging, varied and appealing. For all that most are murder mysteries they are lighthearted and with a touch of humor. Now I can start on Ms Sayers other Lord Peter books.

You'll love it
These are the Lord Peter Wimsey stories before he met Harriet Vane, the book does not include the Harriet Vane stories or anything subsequent. I bought this as I had read the main ones and wanted more. They are brilliant tales, thoroughly entertaining even though they are quite far-fetched. They fill in all the little gaps between the other major works. You get to know more about the family and friends and the early days of Lord Peter. The book itself has a great feel, an almost linen-feel to the cover. If you are a Lord Peter fan, you'll LOVE this!

Excellent, intelligent writing, plots and characters circa 1920!
This is a tremendous value read that l would have paid much more for! Set in the 1920's and bringing that era to life authentically, this compilation of all Dorothy Sayers work is totally engaging. Brilliant writing for intelligent readers, her main characters journey through their young adult lives together.

Memorable stories for Lord Peter fans
I come back to these stories every now and then. Always refreshing and amusing. Volume includes two Peter and Harriet stories: birth of first child; then two more children later at Tallboys.

Collects the many short stories involving Lord Peter Wimsey
This volume collects the many short stories involving Lord Peter Wimsey. Although I had read many of them before in previous volumes, it was good to read those stories again as well as to find totally new ones. Most surprising were stories with Lord Peter as a father.
