A really good film of family ups and downs, very well acted and enjoyed it all.

Interesting story with unexpected twists.

I absolutely loved this - the storyline, the settings and the acting. I know some may have found it a little too sweet and predictable, but when I want to relax and escape into some pure fiction this completely fits the bill.

We found this to be a most enjoyable, well-acted mini-series. The story- line was very good and the characters utterly believable apart from "Laura" who, for some reason, constantly had a whine to her voice which was extremely annoying (thank goodness for the mute button and the subtitle button!). Charles Dance was, as usual, utterly gorgeous. We can heartily recommend this DVD, not only for the story-line but for the magnificent Scottish scenery.

This is well up to the standard of the Rosamunde Pilcher box set - glossy production, and great story - you just know it will all work out in the end, but how you get there is what keeps you watching. We did of course meet Pandora in "September" and this is a kind of sequel to that story. Strange that nowhere on the case notes or on the disc extras is there any reference to this.

Three stars is about all it is worth. I thought the dialogue was stilted and did not ring true. The script was predictable and irritating.I have just about finished watching this mini series which at least I only paid a cheap price ( under $20 ) from AMAZON. Thank god for Amazon. In Australia I would have had to pay between $33 - $39. I felt like reading their lines for them. The acting was really not believable. One character was terrible. I will not name that person but anyone watching this would know who it is. I checked in case it was their first role but it was released in 2013 so it definitely was not. I also thought there was some miscasting. The so called "romeo" of the series was definitely miscast.I have managed to watch it BUT if I had seen it on TV first I would not have wanted to buy it.This is good to have on in case you feel sleepy then it does not matter if you nod off.

This mini-series adappted for TV was a great plot. The families in the series each had their own intriguing secrets which were uncovered during the episodic adventure. A must see for any Rosamund Pilcher fan. A hint of Dallas interwined within this series enabling the viewer to have a baddie to dislike and loads of other characters to empathise with during the series.

I love the author so you can never go wrong on the DVD. I have them in English and German.

Mi è piaciuto molto. Consiglio di comprarlo usato perché è praticamente nuovo. E' una storia appassionante che ho visto varie volte in TV e che ora ho la opportunità di vedere in inglese, con i sottotitoli (sempre in inglese) comprensibile da chiunque abbia una discreta base in questa lingua.

It's romance, but very relaxing to watch. And such beautiful landscapes! Sometimes it feels good to watch simple stories with actors we like like Charles Dance!

I just finished watching my DVD of "Shades of Love" for the 2nd time now. And it is truly a great story centered on a few characters' lives. The color is great and it takes place for the most part in modern day Scotland. The only problem I found was understanding one of the lead actress's voice, "Laura" as she spoke in an accent that seemed a bit too Gaelic, which I found a bit hard to understand what she was saying at times. Otherwise, I would recommend this beautiful movie to anyone (In love with being In Love) in a heartbeat.
