Outlet with surge protection
This is great. We installed it for our microwave. Going to put the other one for our fridge. Gives surge protection, looks nice, same size as a regular outlet, very reasonably priced, and has to plugins

I got the 20 amp receptacles
Got these in two days. I was curious if the wire insert in the rear were the compression type or latch type. Latch type meaning you just insert the wire into a hole that Automatically clamps the wires. Was very happy to see they are the compression type where you tighten down on the screw and it clamps down on the wires. One word of caution, don't unscrew the ground wire all the way out because it is very hard to get back in and screwed down properly. I'm using these for my window AC units because recently a 14000 BTU stopped working after a brown out and loss of power. I'm hoping these will help protect the new units. I also decided to put them on my plug for my refrigerator as well as my freezer in the basement being they all have compressors. I got the 20 amp receptacles because I ran 12 gauge wiring on a 20 amp circuit. Funny thing was when I went to remove the old Receptacle the neutral wires were loose. I made sure these were tight while installing the surge protected receptacle. There are two indicator LED lights on the front face. With ground down, the top right light glows green which indicates the receptacle is surge protected. After a while or if the system received to many surges, this green light would not light up and the receptacle should be replaced. Power will still work but, there's no surge protection. The LED light below indicates a ground fault and it will light up red. This is not to be confused with a GFCI (ground fault circuit interruptor). It's just to let you know that the grounding circuit has a problem. This light is normally off. All in all, installation went smoothly and I recommend them. The box indicates they're made in China but, they are made very well.

Working as expected after two months
I bought one of these 10 years ago for a 15 amp line , I just recently upgraded that for a 20 amp line so I went for the same brand again. On the old 15 amp while I'm actually had a power surge and it did not impact my TV although I lost a few other electronics experience so I presume it did its job. Construction seemed solid on install and it has functioned as expected for the past 2 months.

Alot of complainers on the reviews for this product
I work in the electrical industry & stumbled across these outlets because my local supplier was out of stock. Most surge outlets only protect upto 600 joules & these protect upto 900 joules. Nonetheless never count on these outlets to protect your equipment. Get a whole panel protector for that. These outlets are fine. They are tamper resistant so plugging things in kinda be more difficult than normal but it really locks whatever you plug-in into place so it stays plugged in. I believe these are made by Arlington and Topgreener just slaps their name on it. Arlington is a respected brand in the electrical industry. About $5 less than a levitin or Legrand brand and out performs both by 300 joules. I'm satisfied.

Best price I found.
Home Depot gets $25 for this item from a different manufacturer. Lowe's gets $26. This is a 20 amp receptacle with surge protection which you need for today's Digital internet appliances. Most manufacturers warranties will not cover surge damage. I also purchased a whole house surge protector to be on the safe side. I feel like my new appliances won't see high voltage spikes if they occur. This is good insurance.

Not as easy as you think
I will start by saying item seems to work well BUT not easy to install, first if you have #12 wire good luck, hard to work with. I had 4 wires going to the back connectors so very hard to move around in box, when you get to the ground wires it is extremely hard to attach them. On mine bottom of outlet extremely hard to seat plug all the way in. But top outlet worked fine. I actually thought bottom was broken but finally pushed hard enough that it seated all the way in. Fortunately it's something that will stay plugged in all the time. After forcing unit into box mounting screws top and bottom screw heads were horrible very poor heads that won't take much for head to wear out pretty quickly. Very poor steel. So if you think it should be a 30 minute job forget it closer to 3 hours.
