Review: Very solid - I got this for a Blu ray rotating tower I purchased, it supports the weight very well and turns easily. It's a 63 inch tall tower so there's a lot of weight on it, but it performs like a pro!!!!
Review: Great product! Inexpensive and works good - Used this to make a storage unit for hardware that spins. Hardware probably weighed between 150-200 pounds, My unit worked smooth right out of the package. I probably should have lubricated tbe ball bearings, but it worked fine without lube. Perhaps a little noisy, which probably could have been reduced with some grease, but didn't really matter for my application. I was concerned about the bad reviews that it didn't spin, or the ball bearings fell out. Looking at how it is constructed,, it is held together with a lip around the outside perimeter that is formed from the steel. I could easily see that being a problem if the lip is compressed too much, it wouldn't spin, or not enough the ball bearings would fall out. Mine was perfect though. I suspect that the people who had problems could adjust the lip a bit to solve their problem if they had some basic mechanics or metalworking skills. I would agree that things should work properly as supplied, But if you want to save money, sometimes you have to take a chance and be willing to put up with a little aggravation. But it looks like I was in the majority of people who didn't seem to have a problem!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Folks - does this unit come apart when lifted, or are the pieces attached permanently? Considering using it as a swivel base for chair.**
A: From what I recall, it doesn't come apart when lifted. The bottom piece of sheet metal is curled over the top piece so the ball bearings are captured and it won't come apart. Should work fine for a swivel base.

**Q: anyone us this as a human turntable? looking to make a 24-36" spinning stand out of it**
A: Yes. That is exactly why I bought this turntable. It actually works more smoothly with a bit of weight on it. Mine has a 30 inch top made from 3/4" thick OSB manufactured as subfloor sheeting. I cut it out with a reciprocating saw, but a router on a string pinned to the center of the circle would make a smoother cut if you choose to make your own. I was not confident the pre-cut, round, pine board would be sturdy enough to support a person without cracking along the grain. I also painted mine green with a can of Krylon spray paint... not quite chromakey green but close enough (importantly, uniform color and non-reflective finish).

**Q: Is it 12" or not? I want to use on something that is 14" in diameter so 12" would be perfect but in "Product Dimensions" it says 0.5"x13.8"x15"**
A: The outside diameter is 12" exact.

**Q: Can this be used for a 36 inch diameter turntable? If not then what is the ideal sized bearing that I should buy?**
A: I think the diameter is ok, but it is related to the weight of the turntable and the weight that the turntable is going to carry on, we are using it in our living room to put the snacks in top of it when we have friends around.Hope my answer help in any way

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works as expected, good price and value

Bought these to refurbish bar stools that were near death. The design and construction of the original turntable mechanisms in the barstools were quite different compared to these new ones. The originals were made of much heavier gauge steel, taller, with bigger ball bearings, but which had used rubber gaskets that had disintegrated due to age. I decided to use these new turntables to rebuild the barstools instead of buying new replacement barstools, a huge savings if successful. I also bought vinyl coverings here at Amazon to re-upholster the worn seat coverings. The project took quite a bit of work, I'd say it was an intermediate to moderately difficult DIY project. The most difficult parts of the project were (1) the re-upholstering and (2) centering one of the two faces of the turntables onto the bottom of the re-upholstered seats and the other onto the wood stool's support structure. I also decided to re-upholster over the original old, worn covering rather than removing it, as that would entail too much difficult work of removing the numerous old staples and perhaps unraveling all the old cushioning materials within the seats. Along with the much thinner construction of these new turntables, this required more clearance between the re-upholstered, revolving seat and the bottom structure of the stool, so I had to prepare square pieces of plywood to add the necessary clearance. The new turntables were rated at up to 500-lb capacity - a bit hard to believe, but, since most adults weigh under 200 lbs anyway, I anticipate the rebuilt barstools should last at least as long as the originals (11 years). All in all, the finished project was well worth the work and effort, especially since I spent less than $60 to rebuild four revolving barstools, which, if replaced new, would have cost any where from $500 to $800 or more.
