I’m a teacher aide in a Special Ed MD classroom
We were learning about coins and one of the kids in the class who is autistic was fascinated with Abraham Lincoln. We’ve made a robot with recycled items and Abraham Lincolns face is on it lol. The book is very educational. We read it and he wanted to know more.

Very Good Book About Lincoln
My 7 year old son loved this book about President Lincoln. The entire series of National Geographic Readers is very well done, which interesting facts and photographs. The content is presented in a colorful and kid-friendly format.

Colorful, well put together, some interesting facts.
My 1st grader had a book report to do on an assigned American Hero, and this was his assignment. I think this book is well put together and has some interesting facts, however there is a large portion dedicated to the civil war and slavery. I felt like this material was above what a first grader can really comprehend even though it was put into the most simple terms possible. I also don't think first graders have any business doing book reports though. If I were to do it again I think I'd just print out some information from online and let him use that as the material for his report. You certainly can find a wealth of information online and this skims the surface.

I bought this for a first grader going into second grade. It was easy reading with lots of pictures. It is paperback so easy take along in the car. An added bonus: He may learn something beyond video games.
