Amazon Basics Fade-Resistant Cotton Bath Towel - 4-Pack, Black

Love this color, have both hand and bath towels. Normal towels, soft enough. Good quality.

To tell the truth, I did not purchase this particular towel for my bathroom. I purchased it for my car to protect the seat from the rigors of Costco boxes and transporting any number of items that could scuff the upholstery. Also, we live in the tropics and the seats can get very hot! Always keeping a towel on the seat. Prevents leg burns.We also keep a black towel in the car for when we go to the beach. No more spending hours, vacuuming the car. Just hop in, wipe your feet on the towel and then shake it out when we get home. A black towel doesn’t show stains from dirty, sandy, or even muddy feet.In addition, we routinely use a black towel to throw over any items in the car that someone might want to steal. Hey, people, it’s a reality these days.Who knew that a black towel had so many uses.I bought these towels because they were very reasonably priced for two towels. I did not expect that they would be so high-quality! They are oversized and very soft and fluffy, absorbent and thick. The quality is outstanding for the money.So, whether or not your home decor calls for black towels, everyone needs them. These are the ones you should buy.

First time I ordered them ,The start was a bit rough , first few uses were so bad . My kid grabbed one and then started crying because of all the black lint stuck on o them. They took another bath to wash off the lint . I prewashed them too . By the 4th wash it got much better . Stil a little bit of lint but . It’s a decent size . If they had not shed tons of lint I woulda given 5 stars . It’s a 4 star purchase . Maybe 3.5 but I’m gonna round up .When I wrote the review for these I had only bought them once . When I was looking the listing I ended up buying another set from the amazon warehouse for $7 shipped for the set of 2. I figured since I knew they shed I’d just wash them a few times before using them . Id done 1 pre wash and it wasn’t enough to stop it from shedding so when I ordered them a second time I had a plan and didn’t mind the extra effort because the price was a deal . I realize the warehouse item I bought was not brand new but it said new but in different packaging then it originally came in . I see people get mad when they receive repackaged items from Amazon warehouse . The second time IOrdered these I received a different brand than the Amazon basics. It was a bit confusing when I opened the package and saw 2 utopia brand bath sheets instead of 2 amazon basic bath sheets . The towels I received are 35x70 inch . Not sure why I received a different brand . It did give me a chance to touch and feel another brand I had never heard of . I’m not mad , I kinda expect surprises when it comes to amazon warehouse purchases and this was at least a nice surprise. I need to contact customer service about the mix up but I’m not really sure what to ask to be fixed to be honest . I will update how that goes once I get it done .

Only gripe I have that even after 2 washes they are still shedding fluff all over the bathroom but I will continue to wash them and hope it stops.

Towels are ridiculously expensive and I searched high and low for affordable towels. When I saw these on sale, I instantly bought some, not expecting they would be so good.These towels are not rough on the skin and they are very absorbant (I hate towels that are so fluffy, that they just wipe water around your skin instead of absorbing it!)The towels wash well and the color has stayed nice and even after a good few washes. The towels produce quite a bit of lint in the dryer, but I think no more than any other towels I have owned. These towels don't leave bits of lint on my body as other cheaper towels have in the past and are a good size for wrapping around my body and my hair.

I bought two crimson colored bath sheets for a very low price. I figured if they were awful, we could use them for household or outside tasks. These bath sheets are big and true to color. They aren't super thick but they do absorb moisture after my shower. I have not seen any lint or residue on my body after using the towels but they do "shed" a bit in the dryer. I noticed some crimson lint in the trap each time I washed them. Nothing major though.The bath sheets are clearly not luxury ones but I paid about $8.00 for two, regular price. They are as good as big box store brand towels and cost less. The bath sheets are huge and dry my body and hair with just one whereas I usually use separate towels for my body and hair. These are fine for everyday use. The seams are fine, the absorbency is good. and the price can't be beat. I have also tried their washcloths and they were fine as well. They weren't linty and they didn't shrink at all when washed.I am shocked by the photos of the lint and damage that these towels have. Mine honestly don't have those issues. Maybe down the line they will but they have been washed and dried three or four times and they're fine. I don't know if I just got lucky or what but I am buying a set of brown bath sheets right now. If those are awful, I will update this review and rerate. I went with 3 stars because these really are just average. But the price is very good and I am content with average as long as they don't shed all over me and they don't.

Update: I purchased 2 - loved them. Bought a set of 4 (see below). I did order more, but in the meantime the hems started falling out of 3 towels, a couple hand towels and the wash cloths. I do like that they are fade resistant and color is still the same. Would buy again, but hesitantly.These are the best towels, I bought 2 more. They truly are bleach fade resistant. Got the second set months after the first and the color looks the same-can’t tell old from the new. Soft. Medium thickness. Bought the hand towels and washclothes too.

These are great everyday towels. They wash up well and keep their color, and don’t show any discoloration over time. You do need to wash and dry them several times after you use them because they shed a ton of lint in the beginning. But once you get the excess lint out of them, they’re great.
