Worth Every Penny - Excellent
I've learned that the products I reach for over and over aren't necessarily the ones making the biggest promises. They're the ones that quietly work every single time. Sisley's Velvet Sleeping Mask has become one of those products for me. It doesn't promise to erase a decade from your face, but it does something far more believable—it helps my skin wake up looking rested, deeply hydrated and genuinely healthy. At 53, with dry, mature, post-menopausal skin, overnight hydration is one of the biggest factors in how my skin looks the next morning. If my skin barrier is happy, everything else looks better, and this mask has become one of my favorite ways to get there. Yes, this mask is expensive. There is no way around that. But after using it, I understand exactly where the money went. The formula, the texture, the way it applies, and especially the way my skin feels the next morning all make this feel like a true luxury product instead of just an expensive moisturizer with fancy packaging. The ingredient list tells you right away what this mask was designed to do. Shea butter sits high in the formula, followed by dimethicone, kokum butter, macadamia seed oil, glycerin, and cottonseed oil. That combination creates a rich, nourishing base that focuses on repairing moisture loss rather than simply coating the skin. For anyone dealing with dryness, especially post-menopausal dryness, those ingredients make a lot of sense because they replenish lipids while helping reduce overnight water loss. The hydration system is equally well thought out. Glycerin, butylene glycol, propanediol, and saccharide isomerate all work as humectants, drawing water into the skin and helping keep it there. Saccharide isomerate is particularly interesting because it binds to the skin and continues attracting moisture long after application, which is one reason this mask still feels comforting when I wake up instead of disappearing after an hour. Panthenol adds another layer of hydration while helping calm the skin, making this an excellent choice after using stronger actives. I also like the inclusion of jojoba oil, soybean oil, and vitamin E, all of which help reinforce the skin barrier while providing antioxidant support. Sisley highlights saffron flower extract as the signature ingredient, along with Ophiopogon japonicus root extract and Padina pavonica extract. These botanicals contribute antioxidant and soothing properties, but I don't think they're the entire story here. What makes this mask so effective is how well the entire formula works together. A great ingredient list only gets you so far. The formulation itself is what separates good skincare from products you actually look forward to using. And that brings me to the user experience, because Sisley absolutely nailed it. The texture is rich without being greasy. It spreads effortlessly, feels incredibly comfortable on the skin, and never develops that heavy, suffocating feeling that some overnight masks do. Instead, it creates a soft cocoon of moisture that stays comfortable throughout the night. By morning, the difference is obvious. My skin feels deeply hydrated, smoother, softer, and much more comfortable. Fine dehydration lines are less noticeable, my pores look a little softer, and everything simply looks healthier. That healthy glow isn't from shimmer or a greasy residue. It's what well-hydrated skin naturally looks like. That's also why I think it's important to set realistic expectations. Is this going to make you look ten years younger? Absolutely not. No topical skincare product is going to do that. But when your skin is thoroughly hydrated and your barrier is functioning well, everything tends to look better. Fine lines soften because the skin is plumper. Texture looks smoother. Makeup applies better. Your skin simply looks healthier, and that's exactly what I want from a product like this. I've used this both as an overnight sleeping mask and as a rescue treatment after overdoing it with retinoids or exfoliating acids. It performs exceptionally well in both situations. When my skin feels tight, stressed, or overworked, this brings it back to a much happier place by the following morning. There is fragrance, so anyone who avoids fragrance entirely should keep that in mind. Personally, I find it pleasant and part of the overall luxury experience, and it has never irritated my skin. I've tried more luxury skincare than I can count over the years, and that also means I've spent plenty of money on products that simply weren't worth it. This is not one of them. Sisley created a formula that performs exactly the way I expect a premium sleeping mask to perform. Will I purchase it again? Without hesitation.

Tightens up the crepe-like skin on the neck.
I use this product on my neck at bedtime and again in the morning before putting on my makeup. It says use twice a week...I usually use it twice a day. It really works well on the neck. I also use the Sisley eye mask in the green tube on my neck before I go out. It help even more to and tighten the crepey skin on the neck. Sisley makes a nice neck cream but these two products actually do a better job. I was surprised that it really works to tighten and smooth the neck, but it does. Aging skin needs all the help it can get.

Overwhelming Fragrance
Just want to warn others that this has a very, very, very strong odor. If you are sensitive to fragrance, or don't want something with a strong scent on your face, avoid this.

Lovely
I love the smell and texture of this face cream. It’s very smooth and velvety making it an effective moisturizer. It’s a little expensive but worth the price for the large tube.
