Best racket I've had so far
Great racket. My serve has improved, wth more power due to balance of a light racket, with head heavy balance. I'll never buy a different one... Having had head tis6 and others before.

Beginner
Although I played tennis a lot in my teens, I haven't played again until my late 40's so I very much class myself as a beginner. I bought this racket after trawling the internet looking for the best racket for a beginner, the Wilson Hyper Hammer 5.3 ticked all the boxes, and I will admit I was drawn in by the name. I use it twice a week while I play what is fondly known as social tennis, not too serious, or at least it's not meant to be, there are some powerful big hitters that I inevitably end up playing against. The hammer is light, which means my arm doesn't ache, the oversized head means that I very rarely miss the ball and it has some power, sometimes too much for a player who hasn't quite mastered the topspin forehand to ensure the ball stays in court. My serves feel pretty good with this racket, and I can generally generate a fair bit of power and have served a few aces. It can sometimes sound ab it tingy, if that's a technical term, don't know if maybe a dampner would help with that. No cover was a shame, but I purchased one for a reasonable price. I think from a novices point of view this is a good racket that can sometimes give you some great shots that a cheaper racket may not, hopefully it's not a forever racket and as my game improves it would be nice to advance to something else.
