I use the 2" gate about 18 inches away, and it helps me to know if I am slightly pulling or pushing my putts. I use them indoors; haven't taken them to the course. If you want to work on your putting, or perhaps evaluate different putters, grips, putting methods, stances, etc., I would highly recommend this product.
