Does this interfacing need to be prewashed before sewing? Will it shrink?

The interfacing does not need to be prewashed before sewing.

I need something to use as snow/ice in applique, would this work?

I think this is too thick to use for snow or ice. You might want a lighter fleece.

Would this be a good choice to make placemats with?
