I bought this Vanmass Car Phone Holder and was impressed with the very speedy delivery from Amazon. The Vanmass packaging is top quality and the installation instructions are clear. When I opened the contents, the first thing I noticed was the weight and good quality of the hardware. It all seemed really solid and well-made. Once I got familiar with the assembly, I liked the adjustability of the linked components. The holder plate is adjustable in all directions with a ball joint that can be tightened with a knurled wheel, once the ideal orientation is found. The clamp itself opens nice and wide, with a smooth, damped action on pressing the easily-reached release button. The arm has two adjustable joints that are tightened up by means of wing-nuts. One joint pivots, the other slides telescopically. Again, the feeling is one of solidity. Since the main arm is telescopic – it is possible to alter the reach of the phone nearer to, or further away from, the driver. This I think is very convenient. The telescoping action is tightly secured with the wing-nut. The entire kit, as supplied, offers three methods of attachment to the car. The first is via a gripping component that attaches to the grille vent on the face of the dashboard. This looks like an upgraded version and has a ball connector for direct connection to the phone-holding plate. This clamp can be tightened up, again with a wing-nut, onto a vent grille chosen to suit the driver. The second method is by an angled sucker gripping directly onto the inside of the windscreen. This looks very well-designed and suction is achieved by operating a lever on the body of the suction housing. The sucker dome is itself very adherent to the glass. This is where the telescopic arm of the device really comes into its own. Of necessity, it can be quite a reach from the internal surface of the glass to a point above the dashboard to where the driver’s fingers can actually make contact with the phone. The generous extending arm makes this feasible and more comfortable. It’s a good idea to arrange the installation so that a part of the arm is resting on the dash edge – to increase vertical stability even further. But, this is certainly not essential due to the general weight and quality of the Vanmass product. The final method of attachment is on the top surface of the dash itself. For this, Vanmass supply a self-attaching pad, onto which the suction pad is then applied. This needs the dash top to be fairly flat and smooth. Again, it depends on the car design, but also allowing a part of the arm to rest on the dash edge would be useful for stability – but not vital. All-in-all, a nice product of obvious high quality and it’s great to have such a wide choice of different installation methods. I’ve also found Vanmass customer service in the past to be excellent. Well done Vanmass.

So after many many years of searching and trying out dozens of car phone holders of many styles and configurations, this one is the best by far. Noteable points: Good sturdy construction, good reach from sucker point on windscreen to the dash, phone clasp is solid with a quick release button, plenty of angle adjustment, locking joints so no slipping when it's tightened up, decent screen sucker. space for access to USB-C connector. Highly recommend.

The holder was bought because last one was rubbish not deep enough to hold heavy duty phone protector & needed 2 hands to fit the phone into it. The Vanmass one is much better & also easier to fit phone into it one handed. The only thing was my van dashboard is textured so suction would not stick it to Dash but it fixed to windscreen really strongly & hasn't moved. I believe you can contact them & they will send a sticky pad that the suction pad sticks to.

Fitted to a 2006 Vauxhall (Opel) Corsa we use as a fleet car for temporary use which of course doesn't have a navi / infotainment screen, and is used by a variety of drivers when their normal car is out of action, so it will be used with multiple mobile phones. Fits well on windscreen with a very strong suction cup and has an easy to use adjustable arm and mobile phone holder which should work with many different sized mobiles. For added versatility there is also a mount for the airco vent (I haven't used that yet as it would be too low down in this car, but it could be handy for others)

It does not bother me, but there is some sticky adhesive on the bottom of the sucion cup. This could leave a mark with time, I am not sure. For me, not an issue, but fair warning for others. I am happy with it. This is a decent phone holder, especially for those of us with larger phones that you do not want just flying around. The side grips are decent and hold my phone without issue, plus the stand itself is sturdy enought to hold it all in place.

We have bought several car phone holders over the years and this one is by far the best. It's sturdy, stable, has different ways of mounting and removing.

I have used a couple of different makes of phone holder, this being the most successful. I have used the Vanmass just the once and found it excellent. It held my Samsung phone well, adjustment was easy and it stuck to the windsrceen very well albeit not so easy to remove it, which is understandable considering how well it stuck to the screen. So far so very good and seems good value for money.

I would have given five stars for stability and adhesion if I could have removed it from the windscreen easily. The suction cap is so strong that it took a great deal of effort to remove it. I was under the impression that this style of phone holder was suited to transferring from one vehicle to another, but it's not. Over time, the suction cap has picked up some dust, which makes it slightly less sticky and, therefore, more easily swapped from car to car. (Still not easy). If you do not want to transfer it, then this would be ideal; otherwise, look for one that can be more easily removed from the windscreen.

Material selection and finish are top. Suction Cup not yet tested. The cup still looks a lot more professional than even RAM suction cups. Do not use the Air Vent Holder with heavier handy like GPS phones. Will cause damage to the vent wing adjustment system.
