Nolan N-COM Communication System Optional Accessories and Replacement Part Bluetooth 3 Kit BNCOM52700007

First of all, this unit (as labeled on Amazon) is a bit misleading- in a good way. The "replacement part" in the description threw me off. I originally ordered this with a bit of trepidation, but it turned out that this was indeed what I had wanted: The "basic" bluetooth kit to be used with a headset such as the NOLAN N-COM BASIC KIT-2 N-103 - ANCOM527N1301.For anyone considering this set up, (or like me, who has it and was not satisfied) you just have to go through a pretty steep learning curve with respect to the controls. (Because you're doing it all blind, and in my case, always with gloves on.) After you master the touch, it's actually a pretty good unit.Trying to learn it while riding can be fairly frustrating. I've done this in the past with other systems (after reading the OM) and never had a problem before. Stupid as it sounds, I tried this a few times with only limited success and was about ready to give up on this unit and go back to my previous set up. It wasn't until I sat in my house with the helmet on for a little while one day, really getting to know the correct sequences, (without the distraction of trying to safely operate a motorcycle), that I finally mastered it.All in all, it's a pretty good unit, with ample volume and usability, especially when paired with an iPhone for music and phone functions. A welcome surprise is how good the FM radio is, when you have a decent signal.Hope this helps.

Purchased this with the intent of integrating this directly with my Nolan N42 helmet. Ordered the basic kit 2 from another dealer. Received the headset and the Bluetooth Kit 3, quite quickly, so nothing bad with the dealer there. When I tried to update the firmware, my problems began immediately and have lasted three days. Firstly, for those with only Macs, stay away from Nolan. Although they state that they support Macs, this product does not. I have even gone as far as loading Windows as a virtual machine with Parallels and have still ran into connectivity issues. One would think that the firmware would be upgradable through an app, which I also tried a friends Andriod phone to upgrade the firmware. Simply, this doesnt work on Mac, Iphone, Android, and Windows as a virtual machine. Since I cant upgrade the firmware, I cannot connect to the device at all, leaving me with spending 200 USD down the drain. Searched support with Nolan and they advised that I get a friends Windows box and work it through. Well, I am not interested in spending another 200 USD for a windows laptop which I would only use to get this POS working.

Good system just older and needs to be updated I’ve had it for a while and it has proformed Well.

Installation was a little complicated but not impossible. Functioning has beenadd expected for the most part. Working with a galaxy s5 and have been using the car mode on phone so voice commands work well.

REALLY THEY WERE ENCHANTED WITH MY PURCHASE AND THE SELLER SUPER WELL AND FAST. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Not clearing explained how it link with the helmet speakers and microphone base so is useless to me now.
