I've been using this blanket while lounging on the sofa, not to travel, so I can't give you an answer based on experience, but it doesn't come with a carrying case. That said, I would pick up an inexpensive and lightweight nylon duffel that it would fit into. That would allow you to carry it onboard an airplane *and* stick in a few essentials with it.
