Does this have the vernier scale?

These mics read only to the .001 (1 thousandth), not to .0001 (tenths).

How can this tool be said to have .0001" accuracy when the resolution is only 3 decimals?

Scaling on the thimble will only let you read to the .001. This mic will not read in "tenth's". Mitutoyo precision mics/calipers are very good, I have used them for almost 50 years.
