"Juke Shack" Black Humbucker Pickup

I installed this pickup as an experiment on a 63 Kay Galaxy and believe me, it did not disappoint. With archtop hollowbody guitars the challenge is finding a matched pickup. It's a challenge, because these guitars tend to sound dark when amplified, which is fine for clean tones, especially jazz. But overdriven tones tend to sound to soft in the middle, with a flubbly bottom that has a tendency to cause unwanted feedback on loud stages, even with soundhole plugs and judicious eq'ing. So, I tried this pup out on a lark and it sounds fantastic. The low end is well balanced and tight. The upper midrange and treble is perfect for this guitar. It cuts through the mix like a buzz saw, but it isn't harsh. Clean tones are bright and punchy. Overdrive/edge of breakup tones are very good with this pickup. Tight bottom, good midrange and treble without the old icepick in the ear. Highly recommended. Will keep this in mind for future installs. Thank you!!!

This pickup is the perfect height to fit under my strings on my harmony arch top. However, for some reason which blows my mind, the decided to have the wire come directly out of the back of the pickup, instead of on the side similar to a dearmond. Because of this protruding wire, I can not install it for the arch top. Very upsetting that the picture of it looked as though it came out of the side. Will be returning.

Attach this to your archtop guitar's pickguard

This actually did not fit on the guitar but it is really made well, so I'm keeping it. I'll find a guitar to put it on.

Mounted this on my acoustic lap steel and works great.

Exactly what I needed, well made, looks and sounds great, for my project I had to remove the piece, it’s easy to remove but left a couple of small holes, no big deal at all, but I wish if they can make something like it with a removable side piece, overall 100 happy with the results
