As per my review (qv), yes, but think about exactly how you hold them. Put the flat side against your part and they cut so cleanly you don't have to clean the gate afterwards.

Hi would these cutters be good for photo etch?

I prefer using an X-acto #1 knife against a spare ceramic tile for cutting etched metal parts.
