Application areas: For symptomatic treatment of gas-related gastrointestinal disorders, e.g. Meteorism. - Increased gas formation after operations. - As a diagnostic aid in the abdominal area, e.g. X-ray, sonography and preparation of gastroduodenoscopies. - For dishwashing poisoning. Dosage: 1. For gas-related gastrointestinal complaints: 1.1. Infants and kittens: - 15 drops (0.6 ml) into each vial. The suspension mixes readily with other liquids, e.g. with milk. 1.2. Infants: - 15 drops (0.6 ml) to or after meals. If necessary also before sleeping. 1.3. Schoolchildren: - 20-30 drops (0.8-1.2 ML) every 4-6 hours. 1.4. Adults: - 30-45 drops (1.2-1.8 ml) every 4-6 hours. This dosage can be increased as required. 2. For the preparation of diagnostic examinations in the abdominal area: 2.1. X-ray examinations: - 15-30 ml (3-6 teaspoons) should be taken on the evening before the examination to prepare for an X-ray examination. 2.2. Sonographies: - For the preparation of the sonography the intake of 15 ml (3 teaspoons) on the eve and 15 ml (3 teaspoons) is recommended approx. 3 hours before the start of the sonography. 2.3. Endoscopy: - 2.5-5 ml (1/2 to 1 teaspoon) should be taken before endoscopy. - A possible further medication for the elimination of interfering foam bubbles can be made through the instrumentation channel of the endoscope with a few milliliters of simethicone. 3. Dishwashing poisoning: - In the case of dishwashing poisoning, the dosage is based on the severity of the poisoning. A minimum dose of 5 ml (1 teaspoon) simethicone is recommended. The medicine is best taken to or after meals and can be taken as needed before going to bed. In infants who are breast-fed, the medicament can also be administered before breastfeeding with a small spoon.
