Made of quality metal. Better than one i bought from local auto store and hal the price. Fit my 2013 Toyota Venza V6 oil filter cartridge very well. Im going to keep this one in it's little box in the spare tire well so i won't lose it! This one should last a life time, even in a commercial auto garage. Yes, i would recommend to a friend!

I bought this adapter for oil changes on a 2015 RAV4. The fit is very snug, which is exactly what you want. Once seated, it grips firmly and makes it much easier to put torque into removing the cartridge. It provides solid leverage and straightforward access to replace the filter. The pictures don’t do the machining justice. I was expecting something lighter, but the build quality is far better. The tool is about 1/8" thick on all the working edges, with nearly 1 cm of material at the drive end. It arrived well packaged and feels like it will last for years. As for ruggedness, this thing impressed me. I had to brace myself against the tire and pull back with my full weight, almost like rowing a boat, to break a stubborn cartridge free. At one point I added nearly 30" of leverage just to get it loose. Whoever used an air gun to install that filter made it a real fight, but this adapter still handled it without flinching. It will work for you too, just make sure the tabs are aligned with the cutouts on the lid. One note: the adapter grips so tightly that it is always difficult to remove once seated. I usually slide in a wrench extension and rock it forward and back until it drops free. Honestly, that firm bite is more of a plus than a minus. I would rather it hold tight than slip.

For the money its a great value if your toyota filter cartridge isnt torqued on to high heaven. The product fits on good , easy to install and easy to remove , however it may not be snug enough for a filter housing that is stuck. The quality is fair and good enough if torqued to 18ft lbs to OEM spec. I felt it was starting to slip under the pressure from a 18" breaker bar. I stopped the operation and ordered a high end socket costing 4x as much as I dont want to damage the filter housing. Prior owner either way over torqued using impact tool or failed to lube the o-rings or the 18F weather froze things in place. I should never have to use a 18" breaker bar on a 18ft-lbs torc spec component.

Perfect! That's the first thing I think of after using this tool. I change my own oil & doing so on a Rav4 is a pain in the butt!!! I have never had this much of an issue changing the oil on any of my previous vehicles. I purchased a universal oil filter remover, the pliers, and the strap attached to a handle. All of these made changing the oil take 30-45 min. Ridiculous. I did some research and found this tool that was a little less universal and fits my oil filter cup. When I first took it out of the box, I noticed it was solid and sturdy. The material did not feel cheap. It proved to be wonderful. It slid right over the cup, the ratchet fit perfectly into the opening, and I was able to remove the cup in seconds with one hand. I was amazed. From the time I pulled up on the ramps until I had all the tools put up & oil change complete was 11 minutes. What made it take that long was waiting for the oil pan to finish emptying. I can't speak highly enough about this tool and HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking to make their oil change easier.

Works perfectly for my 2013 Toyota Highlander V6. But it got stuck to the filter itself so I had to finagle and lightly hammer it out

Worked for my 2010 Toyota Camry, with a few hiccups. The first time I tried removing the oil filter canister, it didn't budge due to user error on my part. I did not fully align the notches and push the wrench down all the way onto the filter housing. Once the wrench was aligned, it successfully gripped and removed the filter housing. In fact, it gripped so solidly that it got stuck on the canister. Tried using channel lock pliers, etc... but eventually got it off by tapping the edges with a hammer. Now that I know this trick, the next oil change should go much faster.
