I was looking for protection for a reclaimed timber table, all the other products I'd tested changed the colour of the boards, this varnish dried without changing the patina of the timber. perfect.

Fantastic product, not my first polyvine dead flat varnish purchase but most definitely my favourite.....I have used this to seal my up-cycled pine Kitchen plate rack that I’ve painted white, it’s now heat/water proof.So far so good my paint job has a super protective non shiny surface that’s easy to clean and looks great

I have been using Polyvine varnishes since the 90's. I won't use anything else. From the decorators varnish, satin and matt, the wax varnish and now this one for my painted floorboards. I empty into a container and give a gentle stir as to not create any air bubbles, a flat very soft brush and did the floorboards in sections. The whole floor which was 12ft by 12ft square only took me 40 minutes. It was touch dry in less than an hour. I applied another coat after 3 hours and left it to cure for 24 hours. Rock hard, paint colour stayed the same and I tried the finger nail test, nothing, no scratch mark or any dig in mark. Highly recommended.

I used this to finish my desk (see picture, 3 coats). Very flat finish - looks almost identical to the original wood (hardwood ply in my case). The finish was slightly rough after drying, but a green sponge scourer removed that immediately and is now buttery smooth.
