Filter for ice maker
Our plumber had no trouble installing this water filter which connects under a sink in an awkward place. I wouldn’t have attempted it myself.

Affordable alternative to multi hundred dollar versions out there.
We didn't have the ability to afford the sometimes worthy but expensive water filtration systems that can cost anywhere between $200 up to $3,000. So we got this, we use it to wash dishes so our needs did not require a super expensive system. We have one for the hose outside to give cleaner water to our plants and cut out some of the lead, fluoride and other neuro-toxins dumped into our water supply.

Adds particals to my dringking water
I installed the AQUA CREST filter as a polishing filter on my RO system and the PPM meter showed 4PPM after running the water for 10 minutes. I removed the AQUA CREST filter and the meter returned to 0PPM. I don't know. I really don't like adding something to my drinking water without knowing what it is.

Misdirection, $10.95 loss
Do not follow instructions that come with this item. If you connect the inflow line, then turn on water, as is directed in instructions you will flush all carbon out of the filter. This needs to be done, but connecting the outflow hose is directed next and it will leak. No amount of pushing or pulling will secure the outflow line to the filter after water has gone through the unit. I am so glad I ordered more than one. The right way to flush the filter is to attach the inflow hose, the outflow hose, and disconnect the hose from the refrigerator and turn on the water(into a bucket), then reattach the outflow hose to the refrigerator and turn on water again. I had to throw out a brand new unit because the directions were wrong.
