I had tried a similar grill at some friends house a few year ago and it was such a good time I borrowed theirs to share the grilling experience with some of my family who were visiting. It was such a hit. Recently I decided that I needed to have one of these for my own so I ordered this one with the stone top. It has a nicer "feel" to it for me, than the metal topped one I had used in the past. I had family visiting, who had heard about the previous grilling party - but had missed out, and they were excited to give this thing a try. it was another great success and we all had such a good time. When you have enough people sharing the grill so that everyone only gets one of the little grilling pans - it works out really well because it slows the meal down and allows for lots of conversation and people sharing what combinations of food they are grilling; "have you tried the grilled pineapple with the spicy sausage and brie?" I am so glad I got this. The first gathering I had made it totally worth it. Others in my family have said they are going to get one as well and I would be surprised if they got one with the metal top. We all like the stone top the best. I haven't had this product for long - but I think the stone surface will last a long time and will keep it's looks/feel longer than the metal ones. Just an opinion at this point.... but I suspect that will be the case.

I bought three of these as gifts for my married children (we had one in the house when they were growing up). Raclette makes meals fun, interactive, and more engaging. This raclette is built well and I love the granite cook surface. It heats up evenly, so no cold spots. Clean up is a breeze. Should last for many fun meals over the coming years.

Oh wow, this thing is awesome!! It has now become part of our new Christmas Eve dinner/fondue tradition!! I normally fix fondue but i always do cheese and have never had any reason to do meat or a meat fondue when i really want to dip everything into cheese. This fixed that problem like no other. Not only did i NOT have to take cooked but cold meat to the table from the stove, we cooked it right there on the table after everything else was ready and set up!! My family loved all the little Raclette dishes too for cooking other things while waiting for the meat or dipping into the cheese. I like the dial that lets you choose a heat setting too. It gets super hot and seems to heat the top evenly all the way around. If you precut your meat in bite sized portions, it cooks up as fast as the booklet says (2-4mins) both steak and chicken!! This was packaged really well and i was afraid that the granite top would be broken but it arrived in 1 piece!! I was so happy all the way around with this thing. Love, love, love!!! Quick Note: When you use for the first time and you "season" it with oil as the booklet says to for the first time....make sure you spread it around, a little will go a long way, it won't take much oil!! If your top is super hot and the meat you plop on it already has oil in it, you'll get popped if you've seasoned with too much oil. Otherwise, this thing is awesome for home usage!!

Here is my summary of this grill: Pros: -Great grill for a party. People really like it because its a unique and fun way to eat -Broiler element quite hot and adjustable with knob -Melts cheese fairly quickly depending on the type of cheese -Cooking eggs in the little pans is awesome(try it) -Makes mini garlic toast nicely, but you may have to rotate the bread for best results halfway through -Looks nice and parts are high quality -Granite top can be used to cook some types of foods(wouldn't try raw chicken, but this excels with items like shrimp or cooked sausage) -Non-stick surface on pans is really good. You won't need the scrapers until its used a bit -Handled box can be used for storage and portability ***tape is needed on bottom or everything will spill out.*** -Granite slab has groove for juices to run into -Granite easily removes from the top just by lift it -Very versatile. Can be use to make breakfast, lunch or dinner type meals -Fairly easy to clean. The granite is the biggest challenge, but with a nylon brush or a scotch bright, you will have no problems. Cons: -Bottom part is not circular or oval in shape making it awkward for people on the ends to place and retrieve their pan -Granite top does not get hot enough to get a good sear on anything unless you really overcook the food item -Granite top surface could be larger to better accommodate 8 people -Power cord not very long and will almost always require an extension cord -Granite will stain quite a bit(nature of granite of course) Conclusion: This is a great thing to have if you want to have people over or are going to someone's house for a party. I would recommend this model overall, but I have not used the other brands, so I cannot speak about them. In the end, this model does what it says it will do and you will have a lot of fun with it.

I have an old raclette that is round and all metal non stick plate. I saw this at my sister's back in my country and was dreaming to get one but it's so heavy that I decided not to buy it. I checked on Amazon and when I saw it I immediately ordered it. It came right on time, as always happens with all my orders at Amazon. So far, I have had raclette for dinner 3 times this week. My boys love it and so do I. It heats up pretty quickly and evenly. The cheese melts to the perfection in seconds while the meets and veggies cook on a perfect temperature. The cleaning is easy. Just let it cool completely. The only thing is that the marble get stained with the soy or teriyaki or whatever "colored" sauce you use, but what I do is I wash it with warm water and mild soap and then I lay it flat on the sink and pour some bleach on it and let it rest for about 15 minutes. Right after that I rinse it very well with hot water. Not a big deal. Don't think it twice, this raclette is just perfect!

This is great quality and fun. I wanted a good one and trust this brand. Definitely used this multiple times and it’s great for entertaining

It was easy to clean and it worked well

One of the best family dinner night activities. We don’t overeat, we talk, we flip food, and we share a wonderful time. We learned from another owner to cook two pieces of bacon to season the granite, then cook the food. We also learned that veggies sometimes cook slowly on the granite and so we put veggies in the cheese holders under the stone, where the cheese melts and veggies can cook faster. We added things to the cheese as it melted, such as pickled onions, roasted tomatoes, and banana peppers - Yum!

Great thing to have for company. We loved cooking the food and making different creations. The cooking surface is great and heats up perfectly. Easy to clean and looks attractive with the stone top. Like it better than a grill as it just has a nicer look. Highly recommend.

This is absolutely amazing! I've used this multiple times so far and I must say that I'm extremely happy with it. The only cons: -Handles on the cheese trays bend easy -Granite top stains (I put balsamic vinegar on it. My fault) -Dedinintely not big enough to be an 8 person grill. However I never have 8 people for a grill party anyway. What I do is, I prepare and cut up Beef, Pork, Shrimp, and Chicken. I marinate them in bowls for about an hour. I cut up cheddar and havarti cheese and put them in bowls as well. The melted cheese goes great with Sourdough Bread! Cut up asparagus, sweet potatoes, bell peppers, mushrooms and put them in separate bowls. Come food time, everyone sits around the grill and cooks their own things how they like it.

Compared to other units available on the market, this one is excellent... if you know how to use a raclette grill, of course! The granit stone makes all the difference. It adds to the robustness of the unit. This is definitely not for fast food, which is great! Otherwise, it would defeat the purpose, right? The heat is steady and delivers consistent results. Your guests will enjoy cooking the ingredients at their own pace without being rushed.

Great idea but poor quality. A little on the small side. Not big enough for 4 people.
