Fantastic tool, confirmed the safety features
Fantastic product. Everything works as advertised and it does have two additional features not mentioned in the owners manual. There are two different opening sizes. Once you have it powered on and operating hold the trigger key for one long beep then release the trigger. This step can be used to toggle between each of the two opening settings. The other feature is an important safety feature that I have read other users are having trouble provin but it does work. This safety feature prevents the blades from closing if your fingers or hands come into contact with the blade.DEMONSTRATE THE SAFETY FEATURE:Hold the shears as you normally would.Be sure to keep your finger on the metal trigger. Now pull the trigger a few times to ensure the tool is working correctly. Now place a finger on the bottom side of the OUTSIDE of the bottom jaw. You should here two quick beeps and now the tool wonโt close the jaws. To re-enable the tool again pull the trigger two times fast. Again you will here two fast beeps and the tool will function correctly again!THE WAY IT WORKSThe safety feature is enabled by completing an electrical circuit. The index finger on the trigger is the first point of contact. When you place your finger or hand on the outside of the lower jaw that is the second point of contact and the circuit is closed by using your body as the conductor between those two points.Even though this tool has this safety feature, NEVER PLACE YOUR FINGERS OR HAND INSIDE THE BLADES!I hope this helps to explain this safety feature. I am really surprised that the manufacturer didnโt include this information in the user manual.

My Koham experience
My Koham experiencesSeveral years ago, I bought a Chinese battery powered pair of Koham clippers(shears) - #1. About $200.00. They worked great. Bought a second pair for my daughter (#2).Wife broke #1 trying to cut a large limb. Broke the moving arm that holds the moving blade. You cannot contact Koham.Ordered a new set (#3). The new set (#3) would not charge the batteries & the shears did not work. Returned to Amazon for credit. Amazon will not return your money; they only give Amazon credit. There is not way to contact the Chinese company Koham.Ordered a 4th set. One battery would charge but the second one would not. Shears worked. Returned for credit.Ordered a 5th set. Batteries would not charge. Shears worked with old battery from set #1.Measured the voltage of the new batteries. About 2.5 and 4.9 volts respectfully. Should have been 20+ volts. Most small chargers will not charge(work)on a battery with very low voltage. Took a battery from my weed eater, used small clip jumpers, and boosted the voltage of the new non-working batteries to about 17 volts. The new charger started working and the batteries fully charged.Tried out the new shears (#5) on some small limbs. It would not cut a limb as large as my little pinkie finger.Took the moving arm off the new (#5) shears and installed it on the old (#1) set.We have 3 large muscadine vines that require a lot of trimming. The Kohan shears(clippers) works great on these when they are working+-.Love Amazonโs return policy. Only wish there was a way to talk to an actual human.

These are incredible pruners
This has been my best purchase I think of all time. Needed something I didn't have to "fill up", or use cords with as we have about 3/4 of an acre of woods behind our home with big trees and a lot of underbrush. In two days I have cleared probably a 40' x 150' area of underbrush, low hanging tree limbs, huge old briar clusters that have been there for probably 30 years and vines. The sheers are incredibly easy to use and the battery life is exceptional. I worked almost continuously for seven hours on the same battery without weakness or running down. You do get two batteries and a charger. Follow the instructions and clean the blades when you are done, oil the blades through the port in the nut area of the sheers twice daily, and these should service you many years. Worth the price and don't buy the ones online that come from China for a cheap price, I did because they were on sale and got taken; they sent a cheap pair of hand sheers and a plug that goes to nothing. Stick with these, you will get what you pay for.

Totally saved my hands. Incredible tool. A wow.
I was getting massive pain in the hands from large scale weekend warrior backyard work. And as a musician, that's a terrible thing. This tool has solved the problem. It puts zero strain on the hand, and is extraordinarily powerful. I was cutting through inch+ thick branches easily, instantly. It replaces more than just your scissors-sized hand pruners ... it actually does the job of a 2-foot+ long lopper, all with a single effortless pull of a trigger. Still can't believe it. They are wicked expensive (the whole category is pricey, not just these) but I can easily say they are worth the money. For once, the reality was exactly what I had hoped for.

Expensive but they are a great help to me in my yard!
I really love these pruners! I do think they are over priced but it appears that there is no good competition. The pruners have their limitations but can cut most of what I usually need done. They help me keep my garden cleaned up and I donโt have to get out heavier equipment to do my work. My hands are not strong enough to use the manual clippers so this gives me the extra power I need! Would buy it again. Love having 2 batteries. I also bought the extra blade up front in case they become hard to locate later.

frustrating, too complicated.
I am pruning suckers on hazelnuts. The shears will work fine when cutting through a branch that is held horizontally. But when I try to cut exactly the same diameter branch while laying on the ground with the shears held horizontally, it will not cut it. I didn't even know about about the finger protection until I read some online reviews. Maybe this is the problem but I do not know why it would sometimes cut a branch and other times not- the same branch! So this tool is useless to me for this job; maybe I can find some use for it. I have another cordless pruner that was one third the price and it works fine without all of the annoying beeping and complicated blade movements.Amendment to review-Finally figured out the finger protection. If there is anything touching the back of the bottom blade when you press the trigger, it will not cut. This includes other branches! When I separate the suckers enough to give the pruners enough space, they work great. Very strong and quick.

Great Electric Pruning Shears
These shears cut think braches with ease. The instructions are just horrible but you can figure it out how to use it and I watched some YouTube videos. This is a dangerous tool and it is not for children to use. It is very easy to cut off your finger. You have to be super careful. It has a sensor that is suppose to know if a finger is near the blade but that does not work well. I use the metal foam padding that wraps around finger and is used for those who have a broken finger and I use a chain metal glove. This saves so much time breaking down branches when pruning a tree or large bush.

Just didn't perform as expected - Stalled on 1/2 " limbs
First I ordered the blue Komok shears but the one charger port would always show a red light even after 8 hours. The other port worked ok so I charged up both batteries on the one good port. Then it would stall going through half inch limbs.. The operating manual says its rated at 21 volts but the batteries that came with it were only 18 volt batteries. I cannot endorse the blue Komok. I returned it and bought the red one.The red one is excellent. I used it non-stop for 3 hours the first time and it did everything I asked of it. And when I shut down for the day, the battery level was still in the green. On the second day I used the other battery and used it for hundreds and hundreds of cuts and the battery was still in the green, Hope that means that this shears don't take a lot of energy out of the battery. The red one includes the more powerful 21 volt batteries. The 18 volt batteries on the blue one just didn't have enough energy.I found it peculiar that it calls for canola oil as a lubricant, but that's what I used. Mineral oil is good too. After each use, the blade cleaned up nicely with a small scrub brush and a small amount of liquid soap.Even though it is rather expensive, I'm very pleased with the performance. The carry case is a nice bonus too.GET THE RED ONE.
