You don't need to remove anything...this just gets soldered onto 2 of the lugs on the volume pot (on a standard strat circuit, use the center lug, and the lug closest to the blade switch). **Q: Same capacitor and resistor for 250K as for 500K pots?** A: I have 250K tone pots on my Strat and I installed a YJM HIGH-SPEED VOLUME POT (500K).This mod worked perfectly on my set-up.
