BUY A 5 INCH GRINDING CUP if corners matter for your project
I waffled between 4 and 5 stars for this, because it does have some shortcomings in how it attaches - the instructions don't help much and the hose clamp popped back a notch before tightening enough to stop all movement. However, for the price, it's impeccable and I'm honestly amazed how well it works. Somewhat my own fault, I just read the headline that included "Universal" and thought my Porter Cable corded grinder would work. It didn't, but my cordless Craftsman V20 did and I decided to give my project a shot before dropping money on another grinder. I only had to grind a less than 4x4' area of slab for a shower tray, and happily the cordless one kept up fine, though I did have to recharge the battery once. I used a shop vac running behind a cyclone separator, and the dust collection was nearly perfect, verified by my particle counter (want to be sure the air is clear lest my wife walks in and breathe a lungful of silica dust). You should still wear a respirator if you're inside, but you might not even need one outside. FYI, I have a mid-size 1.5" shop vac hose in my arsenal with a rubber end that fit nice and tight with a little persuading, so I luckily didn't have to mess with any adapters. Now we get to my review's headline. If you need to get right up to an edge, get a 5 inch wheel because the sliding window will leave a gap with just a 4 inch wheel, which I had gotten to be sure I didn't overwhelm my (corded when I originally planned this) grinder. When I was almost done, I figured I should make sure even the edges (think about 3/4 inch or so) were bond prepped, so I took the hood off - and replaced the conventional guard! - and went at it. An hour later that dust, which within seconds made the air visibly cloudy, is still being slowly pulled out of my bathroom by the fan. So, yeah. If edges matter get a 5 inch wheel for finishing work at least. I'd still probably use just a 4 inch wheel for normal work unless you have a big 11-amp corded grinder.

A MUST FOR PRO'S
I'm a professional in residential renovations. I ordered this for my Metabo 4 1/2 grinder to remove thinset and glue from a concrete floor in an occupied home. As a professional, it is important to keep the dust at a minimum. This dust cover picked up almost 98 percent of the dust, and did an excellent job of sending the dust to my Rigid shop vac. The sliding cover for angle cuts, when retracted, allowed me to remove the thinset right next to the walls. Even with the retractable cover open, the dust collection was OUTSTANDING! This is a must for pro's and I would definitely buy it again. It comes with several different sizes of shims and two clamps. The wrench provided did not work on my Metabo, but it did work on my other grinders ( Metabo has their own specific size). The outer brush boarder on the bottom of the cover kept the dust from escaping the cover and acts like a vacuum attachment to provide additional suction. As you can see in the pictures, it fits perfectly. I use a rigid hose attachment to connect to the dust collector because connecting straight to the hose can cause the hose to pinch. I tape the rigid connection to the collector to prevent any disconnection from the collector and my shop vac. Use a smaller hose (1 1/4 inch) to connect up to the collector and your in business. Outstanding product for the price and a terrific value.

Does the Job
I could almost rate 5 stars except for: The vac hose attachment needs to be taped on to keep it from falling off. It almost fits snuggly enough but not quite. The attachment does not quite fit on my Dewalt grinder. There are a couple of nubs on the grinder housing behind the spindle that get in the way of the clamping ring from seating all the way onto the grinder housing. Because of that you can't get the collector on all the way and squared up. It works but not quite right. I have another grinder, Ryobi, that the device fits on perfectly so I went with that one. I forget the exact model Dewalt but I saw a comment here that the collector is a good fit. It fits but not great. Overall, this thing does the job. I removed old ceramic tiles and there was thinset stuck all over than this got it off with the right wheel with essentially no dust. Kind of amazing. Update: I used the tool for 3-4 hours yesterday on my kitchen remodel. Seems like the edge door has started to not stay closed. Not a big deal, but maybe a small latch would be a good idea. Without the door closed, if not next to a wall, stuff gets blown all over. One more issue: not really related to the performance of the collector, but my shop vac, 8 gal model, gets its bag filled quickly. The collector sucks up just about everything so even very fine dust gets collected. With the 75 sqft or so of floor, I had to change the bag in my ShopVac twice. Just something to keep an eye on.

Great Buy, worked better than expected
This fit both a B&D and a DeWalt grinder I have. Used it many hours and it held up to use and literally captured 98%+ of cement / paint dust. Vacuum hose adapter 1.25" to 2.25" can be found in most hardware stores. Very pleased. Used it with ALOK diamond 4.5" cement grinding wheel. Every 20-30min clean your vacuum filter and you will see very little dust. Highly recommend and would buy again.

Not great fit but got the job done
Overall good quality, but unfortunately did not fit my DeWalt angle grinder well. To start, the cover sat basically even with the grinding disk which meant you essentially could not get the disk to make contact with the surface. I cut away some of the plastic neck so that it could sit higher up, which allowed me to proceed with work. I'd say I could only use about one half of the grinding surface even with the modification, which resulted in uneven wear of the disk. Beyond the height issue, the actual fit around the neck was good using the provided insert and it was easy to assemble. The dust remove when connected to a rigid 12g vac was very good. The hose adapter was not perfect, but I made it work with one of my other vacuum head adapters. While it's a decent product, if I had more time I probably works have returned it for another. But given I needed to finish my project, this got the job done.

Worked well and NO dust!
I found this product was well made and easy to use. I used it on my Hitachi 4" grinder. It comes with multiple adapters and one of them fit the collar on my grinder. I have seen a few comments about the clamp. From my experience these stainless steel hose clamps almost always slip if over-tightened and this one was no exception. However, I thought it was actually convenient to allow the dust collector to rotate a little during use. They did provide an extra clamp. The spring-loaded brushes on the dust collector worked well and I had no problem keeping it flat on the floor with minimal pressure. I used it with the 1-1/4" hose for my small shop vacuum but I adapted that hose to connect to my large shop vacuum. A little duct tape kept everything together securely. The result was no dust at all except when I forgot to turn on the shop vacuum.

Worked great for me
I did an epoxy coat in my garage and I chose to grind the floor before for better adhesion. This kept the dust down significantly, i saw essentially no dust unless I lifted the angle grinder at an angle creating a decent gap, in which case i was reminded how much dust it would otherwise create. Make sure the collar is nice and tight as some bad reviews seem like they didnt tighten the collar, it came loose and ruined it, Id consider that user error. Couple tips for those who will be doing concrete grinding. First is i did have to tape the hose connections for a good seal there but that is due to the size of the hose. Second is that the concrete dust is extremely fine and will clog the filter extremely quickly. I would suggest using a filter bag or what i did which was remove the filter completely and run a hose from the vac exhaust outside.

Works well.
It was a bit finnicky to get on, but once itโs on, the dust shroud does its job โ keeps dust down and makes grinding a lot cleaner and safer. The spring-loaded brush and swivel cover are nice touches for working along edges and uneven surfaces.
