Used extensively for boat building, marine repair and restoration (especially fiberglass repairs), our polyester resin contains wax, so it cures to a hard finish that's ready to sand and finish with paint or gel coat. High-quality marine grade polyester resin is typically used for one-coat glasswork or as a final, tack-free, sealer coat over tacky polyester laminating resin. Durable polyester finishing resin is perfect for top-coating over wood, fiberglass, metal, and composites. Medium viscosity resin is easy to spread, provides fast wet out of fiberglass cloth and chopped strand mat (CSM), and minimizes dripping and sagging on vertical surfaces. **Q: Does the finish resin "cure" the laminating resin? if so how many coats are needed to seal the lam. resin? Thanks**
A: Finish resin contains wax which enables the resin to cure. Laminate resin does not contain wax so it will not cure this enabling you to layer the cloth. When you are done building up you put in a finish or wax included resin.

**Q: How much does it shrink?**
A: TotalBoat Polyester Resin shrinks a little as does all brands of polyester resin.  Depending on your project, the odds are high that it is negligible and won't affect the outcome.  Epoxy resins shrink less.

**Q: I poured 12oz in a vase encapsulating something and it didn’t dry clear like water. It’s still purple after 20 hrs. What did I do wrong?**
A: You used the wrong resin. This is not casting resin, surfboard resin or tabletop resin. A better choice would have been an epoxy, casting resin. A better choice for a surfboard would be surfboard resin.

**Q: Do you sell the mekp hardner seperate?**
A: Usually come with resin.
