Fantastic Lens - get this if you need a fast and wide prime
I've given a full set of stars for this though I'm not entirety sure why I need to rate it's thickness. I use this with a Canon M50 as my setup for Zoom meetings and it is perfect, allowing a nice shallow depth of field with great low light performance. It's the heaviest of my M-series lenses but I can see this being on the camera most of the time. Great for landscape photography and a great YouTube vlogging lens too. The other night I tried astrophotography with it and the f1.4 meant I could keep the iso lower than I otherwise would have to this creating a really nice image, though a full frame camera would always win of course. I highly recommend this lens and I'm sure the other mount variants would be just as good - fast maximum aperture, precise focus and a great quality image.

Get It - Canon M50
It is an amazing lens! Fully compatible with the Canon M50 with no need to purchase any sort of adapters. Just fits straight on. The picture quality is remarkable. At f1.4 it is super clear, cinematic and leaving a nice Bokeh. The quality of this lens is all metal! So it feels nice and you know it's HQ durable. Highly recommend.

Fast and almost silent autofocus
I've had this lens for my Canon M50 camera for about 3 months now. I primarily use it for vlog-style videos. At 16mm on the crop sensor body, there is a 1.6 crop factor which equates to a 25mm focal length. Not to severe. I can easily handhold the camera in selfie-style and not fully fill the frame, in fact the subject remains sharp in the frame while the background has a nice blurry bokeh. With the camera in video mode, there's virtually no noise in Autofocus. The F1.4 aperture means i can get good images even in low light, and i can keep the ISO relatively low. It takes a neat image as well, landscapes for sure but also some portraits, as with any wide angled lens, keep the subject nearer the middle of the frame and you will keep the distortion to a minimum. I'm very happy with this lens. Sigmas glass is always very good, I also have a 35mm and 50mm in the Art series. Highly recommended

Probably the Best Vlogging Lens for the EF-M Canon Mount
Since purchasing the Sigma F1.4 DC DN EF-M Mount lens its been on either my Canon EOS M50 or my new Canon EOS M6 Mk2 and is always my lens of choice for vlogging. With an amazing quality of image that produces that proffeshional blury background that provides the seperation from the subject that all video vloggers want to achieve. I have featured this lens in many field tests on my YouTube channel 'Roving Chestnut' and I have plans to do many more. If you are after an awsome EF-M mount lens then this is the one to go for.

Fantastic product, but…
The product itself is fantastic and deserves 5 stars. The delivery packaging however, was in very poor condition, and the lens box itself looked like it had been opened.

This lens on the Canon M6 mk2 is excellent
As a VLOG tool this is sharp / fast and provides good low light capability with great background blur. This works as a light and portable Astrophotography wide angle fast lens for a small equatorial tracker. For Landscape I added a 67mm variable density ND filter. Very very good - this is significantly better than Sigma products over the last 3 years or more.

Amazing lense for multiple purposes
Absolutely love it!!!! I have a Canon portrait 1.8 50mm lense and used to think it is the best, but now I am squeaking and running around the house taking photos of my cats, dark corridors, cobwebs (oops...did I really say that?), the pores of my partner’s face... fast, quiet, light (bright), amazing wide angle. Love it! Love it! Love it.

I FEEL ROBBED!
I purchased for minimum discount compared to brand new. For my minimum discount I got a 2nd hand device. No box. No instructions. No petal cover. No protective case. Nothing. To replace these would cost alot more than purchasing brand new. Which is disgusting. I had issues from the start, Amazon said it was faulty. But I was unable to return it in time as I'm heavily disabled and in the middle of a flair up. By time I recovered it was to late. I manged a couple of photos but it was hit and miss and came with struggles. Back into a other flair up and now I'm well passed the date. Same issues. Struggling to focus quality can be lacking at times. The basic lense I got with a canon 2000d works better than this lense.

Love the early receiving again with standard shipping. Crossed my wish list for this one. Cant ignore the quality on this similar to the 56mm. 2nd purchase from the same seller may buy again to complete a set with the 30mm remaining.

The Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary lens is a wide-angle prime lens designed for APS-C format mirrorless cameras, including the Canon EF-M mount. It's part of Sigma's "Contemporary" line, which aims to balance image quality and compact size. Here's a review based on available information: Key Features and Specifications: * Focal Length: 16mm (equivalent to 25.6mm on Canon EF-M APS-C sensors) * Maximum Aperture: f/1.4 - This bright aperture allows for excellent low-light performance and shallow depth of field. * Lens Construction: 16 elements in 13 groups, including SLD and FLD elements to minimize chromatic aberrations and aspherical elements to control distortion and spherical aberrations. * Autofocus: Stepping motor for quick, quiet, and smooth autofocus, suitable for both stills and video. * Minimum Focusing Distance: 25cm (9.8 inches) * Maximum Magnification Ratio: 1:9.9 * Filter Size: 67mm * Number of Diaphragm Blades: 9, rounded for smooth bokeh. * Build Quality: Dust and splash-resistant construction with a brass bayonet mount for durability. * Weight: Approximately 405g for the Canon EF-M mount. Pros: * Excellent Sharpness: Reviews consistently praise the lens for its sharpness, even wide open at f/1.4, with good edge-to-edge performance. Stopping down slightly further enhances clarity. * Bright Aperture: The f/1.4 aperture is a significant advantage for low-light photography and videography, allowing for lower ISO settings and more light gathering. It also provides pleasing bokeh (background blur) for subject isolation. * Wide Angle of View: The 16mm focal length (25.6mm equivalent) is versatile for various applications, including landscapes, street photography, vlogging, and astrophotography. * Good Control of Aberrations: The lens design effectively minimizes chromatic aberration, distortion, and coma, contributing to clean and high-quality images. * Smooth Bokeh: The rounded 9-blade diaphragm helps create smooth and natural-looking out-of-focus areas. * Fast and Quiet Autofocus: The stepping motor delivers quick and silent autofocus, which is beneficial for both still shooting and video recording. * Solid Build Quality: The lens feels well-made and durable, with dust and splash resistance offering added confidence in various shooting conditions. * Relatively Affordable: Compared to similar lenses, the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary offers excellent performance at a competitive price point. Cons: * Size: While part of the "Contemporary" line, it's noted to be a bit larger than some other APS-C prime lenses. * No Optical Stabilization: The lens does not feature built-in optical image stabilization. However, given the wide focal length and bright aperture, this is often less of an issue, especially on cameras with in-body image stabilization (IBIS), though Canon EF-M bodies do not have IBIS.
