Region-Free DVD Player for TV with HDMI

This review is as much about the seller as a the great DVD player We needed an new DVD player that was simple to use, inexpensive, and had an HDMI output as well as the older RCA outputs. After looking through the Amazon reviews, we ordered the ELECTCOM PRO. This was back in 2023 and we've had great results with it. Easy to set up and to operate. Last July. our daughter needed a DVD for her apartment. I was pleased with the previous ELECTCOM PRO, so I ordered her the same model. When I was setting hers up, I realized that it had a 3 year warranty - hard to find with most electronics purchases. I didn't remember if my previous purchase 2 1/2 that or not. About 3 weeks after I had installed hers, ours wouldn't display on the TV. It appeared to be playing, but now audio or video HDMI output. I tried it on several tv's to make sure that it wasn't the TV. I called the company and did the simple troubleshooting they suggested. After another day I was told they were sending me a new unit, Wow! That's great service, I only had to go online back to my original Amazon invoice and they followed through with the rest. Even followed back a few days later to make sure everything was good. Wish every company did the same. Well done ELECTCOM!

This is a very nice and user-friendly DVD player that is easy to connect and requires minimal effort. The unit comes with a remote-control unit and is compact in size. The picture clarity is very good, and I already played a few movies on it. This DVD player is a good and solid model that I can recommend to anyone who still has their favorite DVD video library. I highly recommend this unit. Buy it and you will not be disappointed! DVD players are here to stay! Thanks!

Update: Aug 17, 2026 I was able to contact the manufacturer directly through their site about the issues mentioned in my original review and they were prompt in providing me a replacement, responding to questions I had, and following up on the quality of the new unit. My new DVD player is working perfectly - exactly what I wanted out of a simple, compact player - and I'm extremely pleased with their customer service. They even helped me troubleshoot a resolution issue that ended up being my TV, not the player. Basic player, nothing fancy but does what I need, and great service to work with. Thank you, ELECTCOM for the response and help. Original Review: I bought this DVD player in March 2026. My roommate and I rarely watch DVDs but we had a few we wanted to access and our old player was bust. I didnt need anything fancy just something to watch DVDs once in a while. As soon as the player arrived, I popped in Pride and Prejudice to make sure it worked. Everything looked fine and the movie played through without problems. Skip ahead to a month later. We tried to play some old Narnia DVDs but they wouldn't register. We'd had problems playing them on a friend's PS4, too, though, so we didn't think much of it. Today I decided to try again and now the thing won't work at all. I've tried different HDMI ports, I tried plugging in the old school inputs. No connection. It won't play anything, even the Pride and Prejudice disc I originally played on it. It simply gives me the ELECTCOM Screensaver (so I know it's connected and the TV recognizes it) but the machine itself says "no CD." You can hear in the video, even, that it initially spins and tries to read it, then just stops spinning. When i call the help line, I only get a busy signal. So now I have two broken DVD players.

I give the customer support 5 stars!. I had the dvd less than a year and it would no longer power on. I had registered the dvd player with the company and it had a 3 year warranty. I emailed Electcom support and they responded the same day and sent out a replacement the next day. It arrived in less than a week. I registered the new one and they emailed me to make sure I got it set up successfully. Superb customer support! The new dvd player is working great.

I ordered this in 2024, used it with a computer for a while then moved it to the Den...but didn't use it. tried to use it a couple weeks ago, it wouldn't work. I scanned the warranty because it was good for 3 yrs. I then sent a message that I could no longer make it work. The email was answered with an apology and some helpful hints. I was a little busy so I didn't respond right away. A day or so later I received a call from Lovley, a customer service rep. she walked me through several steps to see if we could get it play. we could not. so I was sent a replacement free of charge. replacement was here faster than expected and is working perfectly! Great Customer service!

I ran across this DVD player and was happily surprised to learn that nowadays they makes ones that play multiple region DVDs. That, plus the fact that it is not expensice, made it a no-brainer for me to show my niece my collection of films. Also important: 1) It is easy to set up & 2) It is easy to use & 3) The picture was great! VERY HAPPY with this one.

Bought this March of 2025 to play cd's I have in my shop, but generally use an mp3 thing my kids set up for me, so this cd player got seldom use. Today it decides not to recognize any cd's. I probably have listened to maybe 15-25 cd's, if that many. Sound was good when it worked.

This DVD player is extremely easy to set up. Plug it in and connect to your TV and you will enjoy your DVD's right away. I had a problem with the player after a little over 2 years, and I contacted Electcom Pro customer service. They give a 3-year warranty, and they are extremely responsive. I heard from them the next day and they offered to repair or replace my unit. I asked to have it replaced, and within a week I had a new DVD player delivered, all with no cost. Their customer service is amazing...it is super easy to get an answer from them! It is so refreshing to have a company actually stand by their warranty and be willing to satisfy the customer entirely with no hassles. I highly recommend this company.

Heel blij met deze dvd speler: ik heb een aantal series die regio 1 zijn... en dan is een europese dvd speler niet wat je nodig hebt. Ik heb deze dvd speler nu 1 jaar en ben er nog steeds erg blij mee. Mooie kwaliteit, afstandsbediening werkt, overzichtelijk ding. Zoek je een goede en niet al te dure regiovrije dvd speler; dan is deze een aanrader UPDATE REVIEW 2026: in 2022 gekocht en nog steeds werkt de dvd speler goed en zonder problemen. AANRADER

Super lecteur DVD

Really good DVD. I like it a lot. It plays all the different regions of DVDs I have. The picture is good, at least to me. I read before purchasing that some of the buyers had an issue with the remote. I find it absolutely all right. No issues so far. And I have quite big hands. :) Installation was quick and basically, I had to connect it and it started to work. Really good item. Very good for the price. Really small. I don't find it loud. To me is quiet. Of course, when the DVD is loading, you can hear it loading, but while watching, no issues at all. So, my personal opinion about this small DVD is 5/5. Exactly what I needed.
