The first full day at the beach we were playing and someone threw a ball that hit another and it shattered. They say this is high quality and will last a lifetime but it literally lasted one day for me. Really hoping they at least replace itEdit: 2 days later another broke. We have been playing on a normal beach throwing on soft sand without any overly aggressive throws. I have played with plastic bocce balls filled with water that last longer than this. Not worth the price at all.

This is our second summer with this beach bocce set. Our grandchildren and adults are able to play easily. The quality of the set has made it a worthwhile purchase. It still looks like new after many plays on the hard sand.NOTE: The "jack" (smaller purple ball) is particularly attractive to the seagulls when thrown into play - fortunately they released it from their beaks before going too far - realizing it's not a tasty morsel. Just back from the annual family reunion at the beach. We put this new set to good use! The reunion is my wife's side of the family which is Italian and some members grew up playing Bocce. We played game after game after game! Everything held up great including the case. We played 1 on 1 as well as teams of 2. The 74mm shooting balls are a very solid weight and have a nice feel in hand. The pallino is a bit on the small side and could potentially get buried under loose sand. The company sells extra pallinos on their website for only $2.50 each. I'll probably order a few more to keep as spares in case we lose it.When we returned home I simply rinsed each ball of under the faucet and dried them with a towel. I brushed the sand out of the carrying case and packed everything back up for our next trip to the beach! You could also use these in the yard at home if you wanted to.

I actually can attest to the quality of the balls. The colors were aesthetically pleasing and perfect for the California summers. They were well formed, and just the right amount of heavy density for bocce ball playing. And the bonus is that unlike other traditional sets, they are convenient to carry and play outdoors at the sandy beaches! The only reason why I had it reluctantly returned is because my husband already had a bocce ball set that he loved dearly and had for a long time. I was hoping that he could either replace it, but he didn't want a second set just yet. Needless to say, I do know that in the future should our current set needs replacing, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this again.

I only play bocce ball on the beach. Had purchased a "regulation" set and (although official size/weight) it was ridiculously heavy and WAY too cumbersome to even carry down TO the beach. The individual balls were also too large/heavy for children or even petite women. These are much more manageable and (by design) more suitable for beach play. Colors are fun and the case is very nice (balls seat in holes cut in a layer of hard foam).

This is an awesome bocce ball set! My family played with it a lot during our beach vacation in June. The balls seem very durable, especially when a thrown ball hit another. The reasons for a 4 star rating are that this set is heavier than I thought it would be to carry to the beach and the jack is way too small and the purple color is not easy to see (so it is easily lost in the sand and we ended up using a ball from a paddleball set). I highly recommend this as a fun game to play when you're at the beach!

We are beach people and I cannot believe I never ran across this product until now. If you like horseshoes or bags you will LOVE this. I cannot tell you the amount of people in maui that asked us where did we get the game; what is it called etc. Our family of six will never vacation again without this. Word of caution this game is HEAVY so if you are a person that could be charged baggage fees I would put it in your carry on. Also, the jack can be hard to see so we used a bright ocean skip ball in it's place.

I bought this set for a beach trip, we love Bocce Ball. Unfortunately, we used the set less than 3 times and 2 of the bocce balls chipped and 1 even split apart. I have played Bocce for years and never had this happen. IT is unfortunate that I have to give this such a bad review but the set did not even last 1 day/
