A Brave Country Boy, Done Good!
I am and always have been eternally grateful for the sacrifices many of these boys made for my future. However I was a little disappointed with the content of the book. This may be my own fault as I was expecting a story of Mr Drinnons memories of his air war over Europe. The book is a history of his life from country farm boy, to a very successful professional of which rightly, he is extremely proud. The time he spent in the AAF/USAF is well covered, especially his awakening to a larger world than his modest upbringing, however, I was expecting a little more details of the missions he was involved in.This book is what the title states a 'Memoir' of a very brave boy who did good! There were a few faults with the script/illustrations with my kindle edition, but these didn't detract too much from a very interesting read!

WE DO NOT ALWAYS FEEL THE CHANGE
Another great book from ___amazon.___ "WINGS OF TAU LOVE" is a complete true story of a farm boy going to war. the story starts while he is in school and leaves college to enlist in the USAAF. His service took him thru gunners training and flying 35 missions over Europe. The 35 missions plus the cold living in England and never enough coal to heat the quarters they lived in made life something a little more then he expected. I was asked by a fellow veteran one time what I promised myself when I get home, my answer come quickly "Never get cold again" I quess everybody felt that way. After the tour in Europe the writer adjusted himself after an ant told him he was changing in his attitude. The problem a lot of people that came home with no visual damage but memories and change forever. He made use of the G.I. Bill and explains how it helped him and the country, This book is a complete story from High school to retirement, Very interesting to read and something to learn. You will enjoy it.Col. It was an okay book
When I first glanced over the book I thought, hey, here is a book that might give me a small insight on how my own father, himself a B-17 ball turrett gunner, fought his war. While the author does go in to some detail about what it was like being a ball turret gunner on a -17, I was hoping for a bit more. But none the less it does show q bit about how his particular crew came together and managed to make it home unscathed and were able to carry on into their golden years. All in all it was an okay book to read.
