Camera system works great, had to work with the setting to get everything just like I wanted it but works great. Instructions are a little plain and hard to understand about the setup but after a little work I figured everything out.

Nightmare Setup with no tech support available
cameras themselves are great quality. setting them up was a nightmare! You need to set up a local and wide area network to port forward your IP address in order to see video feed to your cell phone, it was impossible for me to do after two days of coming home from work and attempting so I had to pay $50 to geek squad to remotely set it up on my laptop. Furthermore after it took them 3 HOURS of fishing around my computer, I realized after leaving my house that you can only view cameras from your phone WHILE AT HOME... kind of defeats the purpose. The 800-number on the Manual is completely pointless I got hung up on the first time and the second time they told me they were not qualified to give me technical advice on how to set them up. These are fine if you just want to view on a monitor or scan the recordings at home, but pointless if you want to watch live stream from anywhere other than home.

All I can say is Buying this camera Is a waste of your time and money, It worked for a short time And then i noticed a red H on screen number one and after messing with it for eight hours trying to figure out why the red H is there and why the machine isn't recording at all, I called tech service twice And they weren't helpful at all, They told me to unplug the battery and wait a few hours then to plug it back in to see if the red H would go away and it didn't, So I called them back and told them that the red H was still there And then they told me that the hard drive Must be burnt up, They also told me that Because they don't carry those type of hard drives anymore, that I would need to go online and try to find one that's a match And replace it with a new one. So that's what I did I ordered a new one online for $35 Plugged in And the red H Was still there???? So i gave them a call back To tell them that I have a new hard drive And the red H is still there And the gentleman I talked to told me that I must have Bought a bad hard drive...You know what's funny as youre on hold, their recording says Quote: They treat you like family And they promise to Never Let You Down. The tech was not Helpful at all Any argued with me on the phone And when it was all over with he was telling me well maybe I need to buy a new system. I asked him to talk to a supervisor And he says that I won't get anywhere with the supervisor I asked him what his name was he said J....... He wouldn't tell me, I told him if they werent able to help me that I would take him to Better Business Bureau And he said go ahead do what you gotta do.....Never Again!! They don't deserve the one star that I had to give them to write this review....

Good product, but horrible setup instructions & worthless tech support!
I bought this to use outside of my home, to monitor my front door, etc. I had a friend/handyman install the cameras for me. It was done by running all the cables down through my attic and into my den, where my computer & TV are. The cables worked fine for me, however, the 60ft. cables may impose a problem for other people, lengthwise. If you don't have enough, you are SOL, as you can't purchase additional cables.The 'software installations' were easy (I'm tech savvy), HOWEVER, following the instructions in the manual to set up the details of the networking end of it was an absolute nightmare.If you plan to use this with the Internet to access & monitor your video from a mobile device or another computer away from home, here's a head's up: Unless you are proficient in networking, port forwarding and so-on, plan ahead and have someone that KNOWS what they are doing, do it for you! After several days, I finally gave up and called a local company here in Phoenix to set it up for me. They did it remotely and charged me $75. Now that it's all done & said, I am pleased with this product.** NOTE: I did call the toll-free number in the manual to get assistance... After waiting on hold for over 20 minutes, here is the REAL QUICK conversation I had with their rep:ME: (after giving him the model #, etc.) Hi, I just have one real quick question for you... I'm running Win 7 and wondering if it's absolutely necessary to use Internet Explorer when setting this all up, or can I use a different browser?REPRESENTATIVE: I'm sorry Ma'am, but these systems aren't compatible with Winows 7.I repeated my model number. as well as WINDOWS SEVEN and he confirmed they are not compatible. I didn't even say GOODBYE, I just hung up on him. In a nut shell, don't even bother calling them, they are useless!I spent several days Googling this DVR, trying to find any help I could get. It was hit & miss, looking though tons of different reviews from many different websites. I found a few that were helpful, but would still wind up getting stuck at the end. I even found a set of step-by-step instructions some guy had put together and was selling for $5… I was excited, paid the $5, thought I was making progress and then at the end where the port forwarding came in, I was lost and gave up. That’s when I wound up calling a company to help me remotely.The video quality is not great, but good (you get what you pay for). You get color during the day, and at night, it’s B & W. Unfortunately, no matter how well you have your color settings fine-tuned, you’re going to see a lot of purple & pink. If your wife has brown hair, it’s now pink. Your green landscaping? Purple.The workmanship & durability is good. I live in the East Valley of Phoenix and we are known for Monsoon storms. We had a very active season and the cameras took quite a beating. Only one of the cameras were damaged (which was by strong winds), It’s outer shell (black casing) blew off.As selected, YES, I would recommend this product to a friend, but with these two tip-off’s:* Make sure to have someone that KNOWS networking, etc. set it all up for you, as the manual’s instructions are WORTHLESS & don’t rely on the toll free number in the manual either!* Don’t expect PERFECT QUALITY video. BUT, what you are getting is good value for your $
