Very sturdy, nice American made product.
I bought this mount to hang my Pioneer Pro1140HD 50" Plasma. I was very excited about my new TV and wanted only the best, most secure solution to protect my investment. After a couple of hours of researching online, reading reviews and comparing specs, I finally decided on this one. I am very pleased with it. Once you decide where to mount it, how high and left to right, you must find the studs in the wall. I was lucky enough to be able to mount this across 3 studs as one of them was a double stud and therfore clsoer than 16", and the mount is 32" wide. Any way I used 6 lag bolts (4 were included) and it is very secure. The included mounting screws (and there are plenty of them to match any TV I suppose) were a cinch to match up to my TV.** They only problem I had was it seemed that once the TV went on to the mount, it rested on the lower hooks, and not at all on the 2 upper hooks. It just didn't seem like my $[...] TV was seated properly, and I didn't want to wake up one night to a large crash, Scary! At first I thought I was doing something wrong, but there is really only one way it goes on. So I called technical support (number included in the paperwork) and they assured me this was by design. He told me that the weight of the TV is supported and held by the bottom 2 hooks, while the top 2 hooks are there to keep the TV from falling forward. It just seems that the top 2 hooks could have been a slightly "snuger" fit. This is why I gave 4 stars and not 5 stars. However, I have to trust the company, and so far so good... My TV looks beautiful on our living room wall.By the way I ordered this mount from [...], and as always, a fast ship and excellent product!Update: Almost three years later, and I have not had one single problem with this mount. My Pioneer is still hanging tough! I love that TV... I get lots of compliments on how good it looks on the wall. All the wire are run behind the drywall so that it is a very clean look. I have since bought a total of three more TV mounts from this company, one for my bedroom, and two for my in-law's TVs. I have been very pleased.

Heavy duty but with a downside
I bought the tilting version for a Sony XBR4 52 inch to install above my gas fireplace.KNOBS: It was self installed with a friend which with simple instructions was easy enough. It was only when hanging the TV that I really wished I had a good view of how well the TV was seated on the base attached to the wall. So loosening the tilt knobs was necessary to get a good view and tilt it forward. Now unless you have child-like arms or special tools your not going to be able to get your arm in that 2-3 inch gap to retighten the knobs with the TV now obstructing you, thus requiring taking the TV down, tightening and hanging again. For added fun, the knobs rear bolt is not seated in the metal so it requires, one hand to hold the back of the knob bolt and one to turn the front. If I was hanging from the ceiling like Mission Impossible I could have got a better angle for the tightening. WOULD love for locking angles instead of adjustable knob twisting. I am a first-time TV installer so now I have a preference. For the average guy trying the install it's something to think about.HOOKS: The mounting arms connected to the TV would be better in my opinion by not having "highly" rounded edges on the hooks. I know when tilted the weight of the TV and the theft bar on the bottom should keep it taught enough from falling off the wall mount base, but with the questionable knob tightening, its a hairy combination that leaves me less than confident the TV won't fall with a mild tremor.Get a good stud finder. The Black & Decker Wal-mart edition for 10 bucks was almost useless and would beep constantly even over obviously unstudded areas. Maybe something to do with the fireplace perhaps.Overall I'm just happy enough, lazy enough or cheap enough not to have another mount shipped and give it another try.

Liked the mount, hated the packaging
What I LikeVery sturdy product. Took me more time to locate and ensure I had the stud than to actually mount my TV, since I wanted to be 100% sure I had the stud. Mounting TV took about 45 mins with the help of a friend. TV seemed very secure in the end.It was very easy to move the TV, once mounted, to center it on my fireplace. It also seemed easy enough to change the tilt after mounting the TV, unlike what someone else has said here. Also, it did not seem very hard to add or remove cables from behind (after mounting the TV), though it was a little tight. I had all my cables plugged in before mounting. What I hatedThe packaging (apparantly from Amazon.com) seemed like either someone had done a quick job or was opened and repackaged at some point. Arrived with a hole in the box and one plastic packet containing bolts was open so some seem to have escaped from the box.Did contain one M8 bolts needed for my 52" Samsung LCD TV BUT half the length, so I had to run to the local hardware store and get some.

PDR Mounts is a division of David Engineering & Manufacturing Inc., which began in 1972 as a contract manufacturer. Established as a primary supplier to several major electronic manufacturing corporations in 1988, a decade of reliable performance qualified PDR to begin making OEM-branded mounts for some of the largest display manufacturers in the late 1990s. We continue that tradition today. PDR Mounts has produced some of the world's strongest mounts for the consumer market with an uncompromising commitment to quality and value. PDR means absolutely dependable strength
Each PDR mount design is tested to exceed UL standards by using rugged proven gauge steels, not the typical lesser gauge metals most competitors use in their mounts often resulting in their product being as much as 30% weaker. Very importantly, no PDR mount components are welded or diecast - two features that could be subject to catastrophic failure, and are used by many other mount providers. Each PDR mount is made up of whole steel interlocking pieces, ensuring dependable strength under heavy loads. In addition, unlike competitive mount products, PDR mounts are expected to function properly AFTER being subjected to 4X-5X load testing. As a result of (greater-than-UL) strenuous load-testing criteria we set for all PDR mount designs and a total quality commitment, all PDR mounts have a \"Peace-Of-Mind\" Lifetime Warranty.
All PDR mounts are proudly made in the USA, manufactured in our factory in Southern California. Keeping all design, manufacturing, and product testing in-house and using a stringent ISO 9001:2000 quality system means complete PDR control of every step in the process of producing some of the most dependable and satisfying products on the market today. This complete \"Peace-of-Mind\" Lifetime Product Warranty separates PDR Mounts products from the rest, with the most comprehensive satisfaction guarantee on the market today.
