Lamp Lava 2149 14.5-inch, Decal Colormax, Color Max Volcano Base/White Wax/Clear Liquid/Tri-Colored Globe

My son has now had this lamp for 2 years and it is still doing great I have only had to replace the bulb a couple of times. It still looks like we just bought it!

I have had this lamp for several months and used it extensively through the winter and spring (I don't turn on lava lamps during hot summer days). This lamp is great, it has an attractive finish that reminds me of a martian landscape. I have several lamps, this particular one is the favorite of my housemate, and he is picky! This lamp is a good quality for the price. It is, however, one of the smaller lamps. Classic lava lamps come in 3 standard sizes (not counting certain specialty lamps). So be aware the size of this is the 14 inch not 17 inch (17 inch is probably the more common size found in mall shops etc that one would expect if you don't have other lamps for a reference). The wax in this lamp heats up fairly quickly, same quality expected as other current model 14 inch lava lamps. If you want to be able to enjoy your lava lamp's motion effects the fastest, I would recommend getting a 14 inch lamp over the larger sizes anyway, as they are much faster to heat up and create motion. I highly recommend this lamp, it is a lovely orange colored glow and creates a beautiful atmosphere. Would make a great gift, especially for young men, or for anyone who likes lava lamps, retro lighting, or the warm colors.

I have been looking for a quality 70’s lava lamp for years. I am THRILLED with this lava lamp and use it every day. The packaging by this company was professional and informative - as well as thanking the buyer and to not hesitate to contact them with any questions or concerns. I use it daily in my bedroom. I bought it for decor and nostalgic memories of my parents having one. I have found it helps me with relaxation... I am prone to insomnia, it runs in the family. Sleep meds aren’t effective for me at all or have unpleasant side effects. When I am unable to sleep, simply resting is what I am now doing. I find the lamp soothing. Typically, I’d thrash around in bed for awhile and then head to the coffee pot. Now I’m resting and am relaxed as well as I have been even fallen asleep for a bit. My husband likes it, too - it is groovy and he is also impressed with the quality. He is a good sleeper and it is my nightlight....it doesn’t disrupt him. It’s a decent length cord and the base is sturdy. I am going to buy another for a friend. It’s unique and affordable gift. I am simply a customer so this is not a fake review. A++ highly recommended Company note is friendly and confident they stand by their product. I use it every day!

So we love this. It worked really well and then a few months into it. It's stopped working and wax wasn't melting. We tried replacing the bulb because I know it takes a certain sort of bulb. Only helped a little bit. I made sure that the coil ring was at the bottom so it's not that. I'm currently trying a science experiment where I'm warming the glass up and trying to mess with the physics of the wax and the liquid a little bit. Hopefully it works out.

To those who say that it won't "lava," what do you want?--for it to boil? Common, man! It functions perfectly after being plugged in for about two hours, which is par for the course with most lava lamps. The appeal, functionality, and performance are all solid. If you want a good lava lamp of an appropriate size, buy this one.

So this lava lamp is great once you get it going. I read and followed the directions exactly. You always want to make sure the coil is at the bottom. That is very important. The thing that I think is a little misleading is in the instructions it says the very first time you run it, you should run it anywhere between 2-6 hours depending on the size of your lamp. I bought a 14.5 inch one. The first day I ran it, I ran it for 8 hours and it still wasn't flowing. It was making the towers but that was it. So the next day I ran it for over 10 hours and it finally was beginning to flow right. These aren't like the old ones, but it is working properly now. The next day, after I ran it for over 10 hours the previous day, it only took an hour to warm up and flow right. In my opinion, I feel like they should have a slightly higher wattage bulb. I'm not saying have a 60 watt bulb in there, but something higher than 25.

We bought this as a Christmas gift and when it arrived (a few weeks before Christmas), I inspected it. The wax at the base was tilted and not sitting in the base of the glass as it should. Read the instructions, said to give a gentle swirl of the glass until it fell into place - that worked. Kept it upright until gifted. The first two days, it seems to really have trouble getting warm enough to do anything. Day 1 took about 6 hours to finally shape into what looked like a stalagmite form just frozen in place. Day 2 it was getting closer to the top this time, but stayed at the top and didn’t come back down to continue flow. Note: I did not run the lamp longer than 10 hours in one day. Day 3, real “lava” movement happening finally .. slowly and still kinda of boring to look at. Day 4, the lava show presented itself. Flow of wax moving as it should and just nice to watch. My son is very pleased. Will update after having it a bit longer!

El producto llego en muy buen estado y en el dia estimado,a mi sobrino le encanto,esta muy bonita,solo se tiene que conectar por corriente eléctrica y esperar a que se caliente para que las burbujas que salen empiezen a moverse, excelente producto.

The bulb that came with it was not working and I couldn't find a replacement. Ended up returning the product.

Birthday gift for 9 year old boy. Set up was simple; follow instructions and it should be just fine. We needed to swish it around to get the coil seated properly in the bottom before the first use, but that’s not surprising after topsy-turvy shipping. Has been working fine for several months (used every night at first, and a bit less frequently now).

Muy bonita lampara simula el color de la lava, colores brillantes y rojizos, en la base el color amarillo intenso parece que la lava es real, llego en tiempo y funciona perfectamente, al inicio la lava es densa por lo que cuando este caliente por primera vez girala para que inicie la funcion y no se quede todo el tiempo abajo la lava, es solo la primera vez que se enciende.
