**Q: I have heard this unit is really loud, can be heard in the next room. Is that true?**
A: Next room, across the house, on another floor.  Yup.  It's loud.  Like a vacuum constantly running.  I actually catch myself sighing with relief when the timer shuts it down and it goes quiet.  My ears get tired of listening to it, but it does a great job.  PROTECT your countertop/table.  Mine vibrated so much that the feet ruined my counter.

**Q: I hydrate quite often when making beef jerky.  Is there a particular one you would recommend for this process?  I have gone through two dehydrators al**
A: Anything from Excalibur is solid. I like the models with the stainless steel trays but they are twice the price. What other brands were you using? Excalibur dehydrators also have a warranty so if something does go wrong you are likely covered.

**Q: Why is mine so noisy??**
A: Mine is fairly noisy and we have to make sure it is not touching anything ie. shelf behind it or anything leaning against it because it has a little vibration that really carries.

**Q: does the 3948 come with stainless steel trays?**
A: It comes with the plastic trays and liners. I have had no issues with them. They clean up easily.
