Be Warned! A Lid Mod Is Needed.
I purchased this to replace my old fermentation bin, due to the lid finally breaking after 15yrs of use. Then to my horror! after fitting the lid to this replacement bin for the first time, I was to discover that removing it was no easy task!On trying to remove the lid you have to apply so much force that stress marks immediately started to appear around the rim of the lid.To remove it I resorted to using a large flat head screwdriver and worked my way around, gently prying it open like a tin of paint. On inspection I was able to see that the clip lip inside the lid ((see photo) marked in black)) was protruding to far out. So I using a sharp Stanley blade I cut away roughly 1mm. This did the trick. The lid still clips into place, But more importantly, it is now easy to remove, with (hopefully) no more worries that the lids rim will come away! The bin itself seems ok in quality, though its wall does have some flex in it. So If you intend on filling it up to its 23L mark. My advice is make sure that you fill it in the position that you intend to store it?On the Plus side..Once the lid has been modified. For under £15 it's not bad value for the the money (Only Just!)Also delivery is quick.

Good for the price.
Good and does the job. It is a bit difficult to close and remove the lid but other than that no issues.

The lid is very brittle.
This bucket and lid for fermenting beer is not sturdy and the lid is difficult to lift up. With repeated use it looks as if the outer rim will crack. Compared to the other buckets we have, this is no where near as strong.

Should be labeled as 23 litres
You can do 25 litres at a push its more of a 23 litre but it serves its purpose

Worked well
Made a few batches using this, it worked well for a starter kit to get to know the fundamentals, good seal, bung hole on top lined with a rubber ring.
