Even though there IS a very slight odor when the flame starts to wind down (last 15 minutes) I am giving this product 5 STARS. Having been traumatized through 12 days with no heat last year as a result of Hurricane Sandy, this autumn we burn just one can every evening in our large living room and it adds warmth and a lot of good feeling. We had not used our woodburning fireplace in years because when it is cold out you have to open the flu and leave it open for a long time afterward and the whole house got cold. But with these delightful easy to use gel fuel cans we can have a warm, crackling, inviting fire every night. We look forward to it and it has definitely added to our quality of life. Nothing is perfect but this product comes very close to being so. As for the odor, we find that if we snuff out the can after 2 hours and ten minutes it helps a great deal to reduce it. It is very tolerable and the product is also well worth the cost. With just one can the evening is cozy and special! We buy these every year just before winter for our ventless fireplace in our bedroom. I love that they last for hours and warm our room nicely. It helps to keep our heating costs down. The size is perfect and it sounds like a real fire.

I did a lot of research to find the best price of gel fuel and this is what I came up with. It’s perfect. The burn time is what the description says. The gel lights easily, too. I love the crackling sound as it burns. I am a fire gazer and between the sound and the flame, I am definitely in relaxation mode.

We use these for our indoor fireplace that was made for gel fuel. It gives off such a warm glow and does take the chill out of the air in our living room. If you use more than one it does put out some heat! It crackles like a real fire which is nice and it looks cozy. It burns down really well and there is a good quantity. It does have a little bit of alcohol smell when it is burning out but doesn’t last long. We’ve tried other brands but like the real flame brand the best.

I buy these for the fire place. They work well, give off some heat. They do have an odor that smells like rubbing alcohol when about to extinguish. They burn well but from time to time the can does not burn completely. Never used to have that issue, it would burn all the way, but lately not all the cans burn completely which is disappointing for the money paid.

When you shake this up really well it will last a long time, I get over 3 hours on most cans with a wonderful popping sound. I haven't tried other brands only real flame and I am very happy with the quality.

I have a Real Flame mantelpiece and fake logs, behind which I ignite the Real Flame gel cans.I ❤️ them! They crackle like they’re a real fire. They make me very happy since I don’t have a real fireplace, I can still have a real hearth in my home.
