Everything you need to know and differences from the cold brew coffee maker
I purchased both this and the cold brew coffee maker as a way to make my own beverages at home and save some money as well. They are both great products and you might be wondering if they are different at all.First of all, this product works great. Like all Japanese products, it feels high-quality. It is essentially a pitcher with a two-piece detachable filter and an airtight lid with basically two "notch" positions - closed and "open enough to pour," though you'll probably just take the lid off when you serve. The pitcher is oblong, which doesn't come through in the pictures, so you can lay it on its side, though this is only recommended for the cold brew coffee maker and not this one, which is intended to be used upright only. The handle is also big and thick, with a rubberized grip. The differences between this and the cold brew coffee maker are basically that the filter material used feels different. The cold brew coffee maker has a silky, denser mesh, while this one is a more standard, coarse, more open mesh. You can buy replacements for either one. You can either cold brew your tea like I do, which works the same way as the coffee maker, or you can use the "flash chill" method, which is basically a method where you pour hot water directly into the pitcher with the filter and tea inside, seal it, let it brew, take the filter out, screw the lid back on airtight after you drop ice cubes inside the pitcher, and shake it until it is chilled and ready to serve. This method of pouring hot water directly into the maker is only for this, although everything is exactly the same as the cold brew coffee maker except for the filter so I'm pretty sure you can use that method with the coffee maker as well, although again the filter material itself is different. The iced tea maker also comes with a little cup that acts as a holder for the filter, which can stand up by itself when the lid is not screwed on. The coffee maker does not come with the cup. I also found that, in general, tea soaks up less water than coffee, so I had to take out the coffee maker halfway through the brew, maybe before I went to sleep, and fill it up with some more water, whereas I didn't have to do that with the iced tea maker. I did find that the handle part of the pitcher where the lid screws in, the actual colored part, often feels slightly loose and made me feel like I had to tighten it slightly. Please note that only the color of this piece and the lid are different. The two-piece filter only comes in black no matter what color you choose. One piece of the filter screws into the lid and the actual filter part screws into that first piece. It has a flat bottom, so can stand-up by itself, as previously mentioned.Of course, this is a great airtight pitcher in and of itself, even when you're not using the filter and just need something big to mix/shake a drink in and pour it. Some of my favorites to make in this maker have been sencha green tea, which I find works better as an iced tea than regular green tea or matcha, various rooibos herbal teas, and a great maple black tea I found at Trader Joe's. I've needed 5-6 tea bags per pitcher, though the instruction manual says 8 bags. The iced tea maker seems to come in brighter colors than the coffee maker. Takeya also makes a spa water infuser version of this with a more open plastic filter, but you can easily use this or the coffee maker and just infusion spa water by dropping fruit directly into the water, without having to use the filters at all, which will give you a stronger flavor anyway.

Make Great Iced Tea - Review includes recipe for 5-Minute Fresh-Brewed Iced Green Tea
A great container that makes it easy and fast to make great iced tea. Below is a recipe for green tea that I had been making for some time...this is perfect for it.5-Minute Fresh-Brewed Iced Green TeaThis iced tea preparation method is FAST, and still delivers unsurpassed taste. Amazingly simple and effective (did I mention fast!), the method is adaptable to any tea variety. Best of all, if you use the brand of green tea recommended, it costs ~$1 to make 2 quarts (64 ounces) of iced tea, or about 15 cents per 8 ounce serving of tea!Ingredients:• 2 qt container• 8 x 1.5g bags (12g) green tea (or to taste)• Dash matcha (optional)• I qt water• ~1 qt ice Directions:1. Bring 1 qt water to 175 deg F (NOT boiling)2. Transfer hot water to container3. Add tea (and dash of matcha)4. Remove tea after 45 seconds - 1 minute5. Add ice to make 2 qts (i.e. 1 quart tea + 1 quart ice = 2 qts)6. Agitate (stir or shake) to melt ice7. Pour into a glass over ice8. Enjoy Notes:• This method is adaptable to any type of tea desired by using 8 tea bags (or the equivalent in grams), and modifying the steeping temperature and time as appropriate. I like to make an iced hibiscus tea (16g hibiscus leaves per 2 qt final volume, 212 deg F boiling water, steep 5 min).• The time it takes to heat your water is really the time-limiting factor in this preparation. You might be able to beat 5 minutes, or perhaps it will take you 8 minutes. I use an electric tea kettle that has an adjustable temperature control. As explained below, temperature does matter.• Yes, that's right, that's how green tea is done. The Japanese have studied green tea for centuries, and you use water heated to 175 degrees and steep it for 45 seconds to 1 minute. They tell you to bob the bag three times, then hold it above the tea and shake it three times before discarding. Seriously, they have studied this issue. If you like stronger tea add more, but steeping it longer just makes it taste bitter, or so say countless generations of people who have made it their business to know something about such things. Of course you can burn it with boiling water and let it get bitter, just saying. Or maybe it’s different with Chinese green teas, I have found I prefer the Japanese teas.• The container can be any sort of pitcher or jug, and it is especially nice if it has a lid that seals so you can shake it to melt the ice. Takeya makes a good one that includes a strainer. Make sure to think about how you will remove your tea ahead of time if you don’t have a strainer or the strings aren’t long enough…chopsticks work in a pinch.• I recommend Costco Kirkland Signature Brand green tea, which is manufactured by Itoen in Japan. Costco picked the best supplier they could find, and then provide it to members at the lowest price possible (that’s what they DO). It includes a bit of powdered green tea called matcha in each bag that really adds to the flavor of the tea.• Matcha is a finely ground powder of specially shade-grown and processed (the stems and veins are removed) green tea. Many Japanese restaurants use matcha to make their green tea, both hot and iced. If you don't use the Costco tea, you can always add a bit of matcha, or you can flavor the tea entirely with matcha.• If you like your iced tea sweetened or with other flavorings like ginger or jasmine, add it after steeping but before adding the ice (between Steps 4 and 5). Agitate it a bit to help combine the sweeteners/flavorings if that helps.

Three Months of Weekly Use So Far, Works Wonderfully
The product works even better than I thought it would. I use loose leaf teas and the mesh does a great job keeping everything in. The top seals firmly and I trust it not to spill when I turn the pitcher on its side in the fridge.Taking it apart to clean is super easy. All the pieces are good quality (no cheapo plastic seals) so I'm not worried about them deteriorating anytime soon. The one struggle I did have initially was putting it together after cleaning. Everything screws effortlessly back together except this middle removable piece between the filter and the lid. After a few times I figured out the trick is applying a stronger pressure while screwing it onto the filter. After I figured that out I had no more issues. Would recommend for anyone who frequently drinks iced tea.

Amazing pitcher for making Ice Tea with David's Tea; would buy again in an instant
I've been using this pitcher for a few months now on a near-daily basis and I must say, this pitcher is amazing.I always use 8 tsp (roughly measured) of various teas from David's Tea and it works like a charm.Pros:- Very quick (30 seconds to flash chill)- Easy to clean (just soak in soap and water then rinse)- Perfect size for standard kettles- Great spoutCons:- Infuser doesn't have any mesh on the bottom which makes it harder to simply rinse out between uses.- Infuser has two sections that are incredibly tedious and difficult to screw together. I just leave them screwed together.Neither of the cons are significant issues that would factor into me buying this again but if they made a new version in the future I'd hope that they would address these minor issues as it would make this pitcher absolutely perfect!Note: I read another review saying it "doesn't instant chill" and it waters down your tea. Yes, shaking a container filled with very hot water and ice cubes will melt the ice cubes; that is the point of the pitcher. If you find this dilutes the flavour of the tea too much you can easily just add more tea.

Spettacolo
Incredibilmente comoda, si sigilla ermeticamente ed è molto comoda per portarla a lavoro! È possibile anche distenderla per infilarla nel frigo distesa senza che gocci!
