I am a Brit living in the USA. Many years ago we introduced our USA friends to drinking out of the glass boot on Boxing Day. A Welsh tradition from the town I come from. This one has been the most sturdiest, best quality one so far. I can't wait to use it this year with my friends.

Anyone who's been to a German bar will recognize this product. I got one of these units as a gift for my brother-in-law, and was very pleased with the purchase. Das boot is made from nice thick glass, and I feel like it will hold up to plenty of use. As others have stated, there is a seam along the side of the boot where the 2 pieces of glass have been pressed together. However, when you consider how much cheaper these boots are than hand-blown units, the seam isn't such a big deal. Because seriously, the hand blown ones are real expensive.

I gave this as a gift and was not overly impressed with the quality. It looks good, but there is a visible seam on one side of the boot, and a big made in China sticker on the bottom. For the price, it is fine, but is not the same quality as those I have used before.

Yo this boot is awesome.... you can fit like 6-7 beers into it and it comes with all the fun that you saw in Beerfest the movie.... and if you look closely the lietenant who interrupts the rendezvous in Inglorious Bastards when the 3 soldiers meet the movie star in the underground bar is drinking from a boot as well!!!

I know my brother will love this beer boot for Christmas! We went to Europe this summer and saw these in some of the towns. I was impressed by how nicely packaged the boot was. It was definitely well protected for shipping and also comes in a smaller, more practical to wrap box. It was also a nice touch that a beer magazine was included with the package.

I received this about two weeks ago with the intent to give it to some friends as a Christmas present. I was exited to posses a copy of the infamous Das Boot and have some good old beer swilling fun with it.My first impression on picking the thing out of the box was that it felt cheaper than the $25 price tag. Still, it was glass and I figured it was a decent quality for the sort of novelty item it is. I decided to forgive because it was still possible to drink beer out of the thing and it looked pretty darn impressive. I filled it up with water both to clean it and get an idea of the volume (how much is 2 Liters of beer, REALLY) and much to my dismay the seam on the toe started spurting water!Now that I've discovered I can't drink form it, I am upset with my purchase.It's my opinion that Das Boot wasn't damaged in shipping but that the seam resulting from machine press is a weak spot which the pressure of normal use is too much for. I might give the benefit of the doubt if my attempts to contact the seller had met with any response, but so far nothing.EDIT: The seller finally contacted me, and apologized by way of a free replacement boot. My assessment of its quality remains largely unchanged, but since this one isn't chipped I actually got to drink out of it. The final verdict is that this thing will NOT survive much use. A nice novelty, yes but not much else.

Very poor quality, was unsatisfied, one of my two boots have already broke and I have had them maybe a month. It just tipped over while sitting on a bar top and shattered. Should have figured, made in China would not be very good quality.

This boot does not hold 2 liters, as advertised. It holds 1 liter, full to the brim. The box it came in states something to the effect of "Can you believe this glass holds FOUR BEERS? It's true!" No, I can't believe that, because it's not true. I poured in three 12 oz. beers, and it filled the glass to the top. Not only is the box full of malarkey, the bar code sticker on the box that says "2 Liter Glass Boot" is also a liar.THAT SAID: this is a very well-made, high-quality item. If you want a glass boot that holds a somewhat reasonable amount of beer (because 2 liters at once is, honestly, ridiculous), this is the one for you.
