Govee Smart LED Strip Lights, 6.56ft RGBWW WiFi Light Strip Works with Alexa Google Assistant, 16 Million Colors, Warm and Cool White, Music Sync LED Lights for Bedroom, Desk, Cabinet

First and foremost, I am very pleased with these lights. Needing to replace some 20 yr old under cabinet lighting, I started looking at led strips in general and voice activated lights specifically. I also wanted dedicated white lights. I did not want to purchase a bridge (as with Hue lights). In general, the strips were easy to install and set up to work with Alexa. One strip took a couple of tries to connect to my phone via Bluetooth, which is a step needed to eventually control them with an Echo/Amazon device.A few (non) pro tips for you based on more than a few mistakes I made along the way.The adhesive that comes on the strips is very good but you have to be careful to ONLY peel the backing off. It IS easy to accidentally grab both the backing AND the adhesive and pull both off. Then you are in trouble. I managed to do that on one section and did not have enough left over to replace it. Not wanting to screw in tiny clips under my cabinet, I chose to order another whole strip and splice the very end of that. I’ll put the rest of it somewhere else. It was an expensive mistake.The insulation is thick enough that trying to loop the strip to make a 90 degree turn wasn’t going to work. Govee does not make extenders so I purchased from another company. When you splice a section you have to peel back the insulation AND very carefully trim just the slightest amounts from the sides for it to fit in an extension clip. The led strip must slide UNDER the prongs on the extension clip which for me could only happen if I took a thin blade and pushed up the prongs on the extension clip. Now that I have done it a few times (don’t ask), it is simple but it took hours of frustration trying to make it work.The strips are up. They work exactly as expected and have solved my lighting issue in a fun, modern way.

This light strip is great! Just what I had wanted. I don’t like all the crazy colors but the warm white is a nice light when doing anything at night and you don’t want your ceiling light on. It was easy to set up, works awesome with wifi, easy to change colors if you want it to, and sticks to the wall perfectly. I’ve had it up for almost two weeks now and I’m perfectly satisfied and kind of want to get another! The cords are perfect length to reach from high places all the way to your outlets which not all light strips I checked out had that feature. It also will go along with your music or movie you’re watching but that’s not my favorite feature. Anyways if you’re looking for a great light strip you should definitely try this one out!

Honestly, I think this is a great strip light option/alternative for the Philips hue light strips for the price and the quality. However, something that you should keep in mind when buying this is that this light strip is ONLY 6.56 feet/2 meters. If you are planning to put this around your whole room I would suggest to just invest in the Philips hue light strips instead because they can be extended. Yes, Philips hue light strips are expensive but you’re paying for quality. This does work with Alexa and you only need to buy these lights, no other connectors, etc. to use with your smart devices but you cannot extend this for your life. You would have to buy more boxes of lights to put around your room and the other problem is that the plug cable is extremely short. Mine barely reached my outlet and I had to plug it into an extension cord (as you can see in the picture). It isn’t the most appealing setup if you’re planning to put this around your whole room. It’s pretty bright but I don’t think it’s as bright as the Philips hue. I only bought this as an alternative for the Philips hue light strips but I think I will just invest in Philips hue instead. The main thing that I like about these light strips from other light strips is that this has a better option of warm/cool white lights that is super similar to the Philips ones. Other light strips white colors are more of a yellow/blue white light. This one is has a better blend of warm/cool white light technology. If you don’t care for that I would suggest the other version of these lights (the regular RGB govee led light strips which comes with 16.4 feet/5 meters, also cheaper than this version for more length). This one is the RGBWW light strips. Other than that I have no complaints about this product and would recommend it as a great light strip to put for your desk or bed, not for all around the room.

I have a lot of smart home tech in my house but the problem is they are all really expensive. $50 for a lightbulb is defiantly overkill. I found Govee when I was looking for a cheap light-strip to put around my desk and and to light up my kitchen counter. Normally for 30-40 dollars all you get are some cheep Chinese lights with a remote to change the colors. Govee not only offers a really good quality light strip, it also has a companion app that works really well and looks good! These lights do connect to wifi to offer Google assistant and Alexa support, but they also work with bluetooth which is more important than you might think. I suffer frequent connection losses with my $50 Lifx bulbs and there is no way to control them otherwise. With Govee you can still control their functions through the app with a Bluetooth connection, failing that they have buttons on on their base to control the lights. As you can tell I'm really impressed with this product and I hope to see this new company come out with more smart connected devices in the future.

This product is absolutely amazing! For a low cost, I am able to light up one whole wall behind my tv and it just creates this amazing effect when watching movies and playing games! The adhesion was really good, but I do think the instructions could be more clear on needing to peel the adhesion off the paper. Overall, great buy and super pleased. Customer service was great when I ran into an issue that was my fault
