Great install, well worth the money
Finally got around to this project to use these sockets to make track lighting pendants. The install was easy and the product is definitely worth the money. The ceramic fixture is great quality and well built. The best part for pendant lighting is the additional stress relief for the wiring that locks in solidly. Bought 20 of these and wired the first four and they look FABULOUS!

Nice product
I found the Vintage Lamp Sockets to be attractive, well made and very easy to install. Be aware that the wire attaching screws only accept 18 gauge wire at the thickest. I like the fact that these sockets are available in various vintage finishes. I would definitely buy them again for my home lighting projects.

Elegant, Attractive and Functional
Arrived in perfect condition, with illustrated directions. When done, I couldn't be more pleased.Word of advice: have a small Phillips head ( the +) screwdriver handy. The parts on the ceramic base weren't very tight. I've been making lamps for about 30 years, this was a challenge. Usually takes me about 30 minutes, start-to-finish but this took me over an hour and I was replacing the old "socket/fixture".The tiny screws in the ceramic base are situated so that I needed the smallest Phillips head I could find and they're not directly accessible through the slots in the ceramic. That said, when the lamp was done and in place, with the new "brushed nickel" shade that I'd gotten from another merchant, this socket made it look like a high-end specialty item. They really are quite attractive and well-worth the investment.

Pendant lamp sockets are easy to assemble and look good
These pendant lamp sockets are easy to assemble, and they also look good, especially in the black color. If you've got several to assemble, you should definitely practice assembling one first so you can be sure the project will go smoothly. Using LED bulbs today, you should not even come close to exceeding the limits of these sockets for safety. I used these sockets as one of the components in my custom pendant light for my foyer. See photo. The globes are from IKEA, and the canopy, cords, are from other Amazon sellers, and the bulbs are Feit brand Edison bulbs from Home Depot. The project came together very well, and all the parts worked together almost perfectly. See the photos. What do you think?

I love the socket BUT....
I really like this light socket as I am able to Crete artisan lamps.. BUT I needed to order an extra nut for the top of my gourd and the ceramic socket breaks if I tighten it too much.Otherwise a good product

It is not UL listed, but not bad
I had to build my fixture with several of these lampholders. The porcelain portion is not UL listed. That only means that where states, counties or cities require permits and inspections, these would not meet the NEC requirements. However, you can find UL listed, porcelain lamholders (interior portion) on Amazon which are identical to these and will work with the black outer portion of these. I just used the ones provided because I made my fixture so that it plugs into a receptacle. No jurisdiction can dictate what you plug into a receptacle. That is how I circumnavigated the NEC requirement. The grips don't work as well with 1/4" cord with braided outer covering, but they will work. (It will destroy your fingertips but they will work.) Had to tighten the screws holding the screw shell and contact in place; they were a little loose. There is no ground screw where the product photos indicate however, if you lossen the metal brace, you can wrap your ground conductor around that screw and it meets the NEC requirement for grounding.Anyway, they look great! Takes some ingenuity but they are capable of proper electrical installation without sacrificing safety.

Attractive and generally suitable, but didn't work for me
Attractively finished aluminum outer shell. Nice ceramic interior lampholder, which I prefer to the usual paper covered plastic. Seems well made.If you're wondering, the caps that clamp to the wire where it exits this lampholder DO screw onto the nipple ("tube" in their instructions) that in turn screws through the fitting and out the top. That is, your fixture is supported by the clamped cloth cable, not by a set-screw into the cable as with many of these devices. Support via a set-screw is unreliable and a short circuit waiting to happen. That is what happened to my old fixture. I couldn't tell this from any of the pictures on Amazon or elsewhere, so I have attached a photo that tries to show the threads. I have also attached two photos with the instructions, which might help you evaluate whether this meets your needs but aren't legible online. The ceramic lampholder (not the entire assembly) is marked CE and RoHS, but not UL. Both are limited self-certifications that the product doesn't have hazardous substances (RoHS) or complies with relevant European Union laws (CE). Neither is independently evaluated, nor tested that it won't short or start a fire, as UL does. Nevertheless, it shows some effort toward quality that many similar devices don't make. The instructions, BTW, don't use common terms like live or hot, neutral, or ground wires. Also, the screws aren't color coded (as they would be if it were UL listed!). Instead the instructions show pictures of a "negative pole" and a "positive pole." Presumably these are the "live" and "neutral" wires, respectively. This is important to get right when you wire the device if you don't want to get shocked when you touch it.These didn't work for me. The lower threads and ring (on the bulb end of the fixture) are 1 5/8" wide. The shade holder that screwed onto the bottom of my old pendant fixture was much smaller, so I repaired the old fixture instead. I'm not sure if either is "standard" so I didn't deduct much for it. Also, this is only relevant if you are trying to screw a lamp shade holder onto the bottom (that's the thing that typically has 3 horizontal screws holding a shade on). So, measure before you buy if you are repairing something.

It’s fine I guess
The product looks nice but was very difficult to wire. It took me over an hour to finally get the light to turn on. It’s fine for the price and someone more experienced with electrical than me might have no issues.
