Leaves greasy fleece clean
I wash a lot of raw wool fleece and have used Dawn dish detergent in the past. Dawn requires a hot wash and rinse, with no cooling between, and leaves the wool harsh feeling, or if I forget and let the wool cool in the wash water, it ends up feeling sticky. The Kookabura Scour seems to get the wool clean even if left soaking overnight. I use an ounce per pound of fiber, soak for a half hour to 24 hours, rinse and put out to dry. The wool feels silky, evidently not stripped of all natural oils, but definitely not sticky. This soap is expensive, but worthwhile.

Wish I bought it sooner
I'm new to cleaning raw wool fleece and I was using Dawn dish soap like others recommended and just thought I was really terrible at it. Then I finally bought a fleece scour and I sure wish I had sooner. Not only does it clean quick, theres no repeating washes and rinses over and over. It cut the grease, took out the brown tip discoloration and gunk and left the wool really clean and no more raw wool stink. My only recommendation would be to also buy a rinse to smooth the fibers back down. And scour can be a bit harsh on a fleece with very little lanolin in it.

Very effective scour !! (Grab a clothespin!)
STINKS TO HIGH HEAVEN (smells like cheap plastic toy) but works beautifully, keeps wool soft, flexible and clean and removes yellow superbly. I prefer it over Unicorn Scour actually which is very good also, just not as good in my experience. Might have to put a drop of lemon oil or vanilla in it to ‘quell the smell’ so to speak!!

Great Product!
Love this product! I have been using the Kookaburra wash for yarn and knitted projects for years. I have always been happy with it. I just started processing raw wool for spinning yarn, and habe been comparing scours. This works well to cut the lanioln. After scouring, I use the Kookaburra wash to rinse. Which makes it smell like tea tree oil and helps prevent moths.

It does an awesome job of scouring high lanolin wool
This has a strong but pleasing smell. It does an awesome job of scouring high lanolin wool. It works really well in my hard well water. I was able to wash a pound of wool with one-half ounce of product (the instructions say to wash one pound of wool with a full ounce of product). I only had to wash the dirty fleece once instead of the three times that I have to when using Dawn. The solution rinses out of the wool very easily.

Cleans dirty wool great
I thought this wool scour did a great job cleaning my fleeces. The only thing I would say is make sure you tease out all the tiny curls at the end of the locks because those won't get clean otherwise.

Best of the best
This is a wonderful product. I had a dirty Cormo fleece and after our end soaking in this product the fleece was bright white. The water was brown! I did do a second soaking with half of the amount recommended but it really wasn't necessary. I would recommend this brand and product.

This may work fine but it is not scented
This may work fine but it is not scented. I bought this because I have a very smelly fleece and wanted the lovely scent from Kookaburra that I got on some washed fleece from a friend. Great to have diversified products, I guess, but it's a little maddening as a consumer to find what you need. This should be labeled unscented. Disappointed that I can't find the nice scented version of scour any more as I don't like the Unicorn scent. I'm only giving it three stars because of the lack of information. I'm sure it's great, but I'll be returning it.
