Beauty by Earth Self Tanner - USA Made with Natural & Organic Ingredients

I got this bc it was all over my IG feed and figured I’d try it & it’s actually not bad! Mild smell to begin with like sunscreen but fades to almost no residual smell. Nice bc it just rubs in & you don’t have to wash it off later like other tanners. It’s got a sliiiightly orange tint but not bad. I did 2 coats of light and I def look tanner. Easy. Bc it’s just a thick lotion. Goes on with a white cast so you see where it is then soaks in. And not too bad even on the weird places like wrist and ankles. Def worth the trial if you are looking for a new sunless tanning option.

OK, I am very impressed with this self tanning lotion. It goes on very thick and it has a white cast, but if you continue to rub it in enough to wear it almost absorbs fully. It’ll eventually go away. You don’t have to have it fully absorbed, but I like to rub it in as much as I can. I have never seen any streaks. The only thing is it does grab very heavily in between my fingers and ankles, but it’s nothing crazy. It comes off pretty easily once it starts fading. It doesn’t really fade patchy only in the more dry area areas that you would expect. I would give this a 10 out of 10! I got the light version and it gives me such a nice base tan. It does look a little orange, but it’s not unnatural. I definitely wanna try the face lotion and maybe try a medium in the body lotion next time!

Color is amazing but be careful of missed areas or too much lotion on areas. I applied the medium-toned product to one arm and not the other, to see the difference and I was pleasantly impressed. I’m very fair skinned and I loved the color, looking like I’d been outside for days. But I definitely see missed areas and other areas where I applied too much or didn’t rub in well enough, looking uneven. See pics of unevenness on my foot. Smell started good but after a day, I smell typical tanning lotion smell, which isn’t terrible but def noticeable. Overall, love this product for the color it produces and the natural ingredients. Gotta be careful of how to apply and live with the mess ups, and take more care in future applications.

I’ve tried a lot of self-tanners over the years, and this one has quickly become my favorite. The lotion goes on as a white cream, which I actually love because it makes it easy to see exactly where you’ve already applied it. It absorbs surprisingly fast, too. I put on a white tank top about 15 minutes after applying it, slept in it that night, and there wasn’t a single stain on my shirt. It also didn’t stain my hands, my lotion applicator wand, or any clothing. Another huge plus: there’s no weird self-tanner smell. That’s a big win for me. I started noticing a subtle glow within about an hour, was noticeably darker around the 8-hour mark, and by 24 hours my tan had fully developed into a beautiful, natural-looking color. I used the Medium shade and started with a light base tan. The color lasted about four days and even held up after spending a day in the pool. A little product goes a long way, so one bottle should last quite a while. I applied most of it with my hands and used a lotion applicator wand for my back. The application was smooth, streak-free, and incredibly easy. I also appreciate that Beauty by Earth uses cleaner ingredients than many self-tanners on the market and puts effort into minimizing its environmental footprint. Beauty by Earth offers both a foam and a lotion version, but after trying the lotion, I’m sticking with it. It’s effective, easy to apply, develops into a gorgeous natural tan, and doesn’t transfer onto clothing. I’ve gotten so many compliments on my tan and have already recommended it to several people. This will absolutely be my go-to self-tanner from now on. Highly recommend!

I debated over trying this but so glad I finally did. I’ve used A LOT of self tanners and some are good and some not so much. This self tanner is amazing! The color looks 100% natural and doesn’t streak or look orangey. The only misnomer I’ve found is that it does indeed stain your hands. I haven’t noticed anything on my clothes and that makes applying it pretty worry free. I absolutely recommend this- it’s the BEST!

This is seriously some kick butt TANNNNNEEERRRR!!!! I am fair complexed and STRUGGLE with tanning on my own. This was magic in a lotion bottle. This is not orange at all. I even waited to review after repeated use and time to fade. Fading - faded naturally. No weird blotch marks or weird creasing behind the knee. *note* I moisturized everyday and every other day an oil. MAINTAINING correctly will give you better results. Application was simple. It feels and applies like your everyday moisturizer lotion. I used a glove. I would suggest using a glove if you do not have one wash hands thoroughly! Smell- it doesn’t smell like flowers but it doesn’t smell horrible either. It’s very mild compared to other tanners. It smells like a muted version of sunblock mixed with a slight chemical smell. Not roses but not bad. 10/10 will continue to use and have on subscription!!!

Okay so I’ve ordered this self tanner about 4 times now and have been using it every week so I definitely have some pros and cons to share. Pros: if you struggle with applying foam self tanner or doing spray tans, etc this gradual tanning lotion might be easier for you. Every time I used the foam tanners it came out noticeably splotchy and uneven. This product is much better about that; however, it still turns out a bit uneven in some spots where for some reason it decided not to develop. I can use this on my face without it causing any breakouts so that’s huge. No color transfer on my sheets or clothes. Cons: The fading is so bad. It gets splotchy and starts to peel on about day 6 for me. I remove and reapply every week. This product takes multiple applications to get the medium tan color I want. 1 application hardly does anything at all, I don’t think it even makes me 1 shade darker and I’m ghostly pale. (Hence the dedication to using tanners lol) So yeah I definitely would not consider this a medium shade tanning product- it should be advertised as “very light” because like I said, I have to apply for 3 days for an effective tan. This also obviously causes the issue of using a ton of product which in turn leads to spending more money than should be necessary. I’m going to try Norvell’s gradual tanning lotion and if theirs is darker on first application, I’ll stick with using them until I’m notified that Beauty by Earth improved their formula to give an actual medium tan. I think this is a formula issue, but after opening and using the bottle of tanning lotion, on the next application (7 days later) the tanner is almost completely useless. I’m serious- for some reason the product hardly tans my skin after being opened for a week. I always click shut the bottle cap, so it’s not like the product is exposed to air or anything. Idk it’s super weird. Lastly, about 20 mins after application the product causes some “stinging” to my skin. It kind of burns a little (not in a completely unbearable way though) so this makes me wonder if all the ingredients are ACTUALLY natural or not. OVERALL: I’ve stuck with this tanner because I’m so much better at applying gradual lotion tanners and I hate the process of trying new ones. However, now’s the time for me to move on to a brand that performs better until this company fixes their product to perform better.

Pros:natural looking color, easy to apply, no fragrance, does no transfer to clothing. Cons: after 15 min, w/light app, skin is tacky/sticky. Massaged in very well. 1 hr. still tacky. Used a little body powder before dressing. Tips: Glad I used gloves. This grabs onto the typical self-tanner problem areas like a magnet. Applied 50/50 product/moisturizer to ankles and feet. Buffed off toes and ankles after applying. Next time I'll use even less. May purchase again because color is good. No odor. Update: Even though I like the color I won't order again because of sticky, tacky feeling even after an hour or more of dry time. Been using drying powder, but don't like extra time it takes. Have to be very careful of elbows, ankles, feet, etc. and dry patches will be darker. Even after exfoliating and moisturizing. I am an experienced self-tanner and found I've had to take too much time buffing or wiping areas that pull too much color. If you entirely avoid feet, top of hands and all, they are left white and look weird.

Bought this for the low toxicity but it is honestly the best self tanner I've ever used. No need to rinse a few hours after applying, no odour, natural colour, no streaking. I'm using a mitt to apply and it is thicker than other self self tanners, but it still goes on quite smoothly (just a tiny bit more time to make sure it's even)

Great product. The fair to medium is a lovely colour and it is easy to apply. Speedy delivery too.
