Metal Earth Cessna 172 Airplane 3D Metal Model Kit Fascinations

This product and all of the Metal Earth items are not toys. They are an intricate model that takes patience and skill to complete. They were not FUN to put together but challenging. The result s very satisfying and the models striking. Do not give this to a child or anyone who has a short attention span or gets frustrated easily. They are fragile before you start building, during the building process and after. The metal bends very easily and care must be taken to properly shape those pieces that require shaping. The right tools are essential. You will need fine needle nose pliers, tweezers, straight edges for bending, a shear cutter to remove the pieces from the metal sheet and a good magnifying lamp. The effort will be worth it. For your first model you should choose an easy one such as the Washington Monument. Then you can graduate up to the more difficult . Stay away from the tanks until you have gained some experience. These are not your everyday kits.

This is my 2nd model after building the P51 Mustang. I learned to use magnifying glasses and small tweezers and small tools to construct most of the pieces. The quality of the laser workmanship is outstanding. These kits are not for the model builder who is just starting out. You will need more patience if you want a quality product. I also have a solar 360 degree spinner for each that they sit on that make them more attractive. Adult supervision will be needed if a child is building these models, that's my opinion. Think of it as building a piece of fine jewelry. Start with a least expensive model and use you judgement for any future models.

I have somewhat mixed feelings on this product. In the end I really enjoyed putting it together, it was challenging but still doable in a few hours. I disagree that it is possible to do using a needlenose pliers, I would recommend having two tweezers on hand instead. Be sure to fully look over the directions and understand what the steps are. I took off a star for two reasons: it is a VERY small model and someone with large fingers might have problems with assembly (this is not a problem I had but is something to be aware of) and the design of the prop attachment could use some work. In the end, I glued this portion on as the way they want you to attach it is not really feasible given the delicacy of the model. Overall I had fun putting it together and it looks great, but it could be a challenge for some. I learned a lot from the assembly and will change how I do things for my next one!

Very bad quality an break when you put it together. Will never buy again.

I would have loved this model if I’d been able to successfully put it together but I wasn’t able to do it. I’m pretty good at putting things together but this was just impossible because of how tiny the parts and tabs are. It’s very hard to bend the tabs without bending other parts. After breaking two pieces I finally had to just throw it away.

Nice christmas present

This is a very difficult hobby if you don't have patience. It took me a few hours to build but to my satisfaction I was pleased. Will I do another one mmm idk maybe but this was very challenging. Today's children given their extreme eagerness to learn or not will determine if its for them or not... Start simple with this kit and see some youtube videos to see the difficulty level before ordering other products... Overall, great for a zen moment!

Très petit. Tranchant et difficile à monter. Il faut être dextre et avoir une excellente vue...et énormément de patience...cher pour ce que c'est.

Innanzitutto dalla descrizione si è capito che si,era di metallo,ma non che si doveva montare da 0 con dei pezzi minuscoli nemmeno fossimo ad art-attack.Non c'è bisogno di colla è vero,ma i pezzi sono cosi delicati che basta una minuscola pressione da romperli tutti.Se non avessi distrutto la scatola dalla contentezza...che poi è andata via via svanendo,l'avrei sicuramente spedito indietro!Ci sono le istruzioni,ma se siete alle prime armi con queste cose,sicuramente non fà per voi.Io sicuramente ho buttato via i soldi

Da mein Flugzeug für eine ganze Weile "gegrounded" war, habe ich mich anderweitig an eine Cessna herangetraut. Den Kauf des Modells habe ich nicht bereut. Ohne eine wirklich kleine, feine Schmuckzange (habe ich mit einem Schmuckherstellungsset gekauft) wäre die Fertigung nicht möglich gewesen. Das Seitenruder konnte ich zwar nicht richtig fixieren, aber insgesamt hat es nur ein paar Stunden gedauert, bis das Modell komplett fertig gebogen war. Die Cessna sieht echt gut aus und macht sich super auf meinem Schreibtisch.
