I should have discovered rivet nuts years ago! There are so many repairs from my past where these would have come in handy. I used this to fix similar captive nuts that had bolts broken off in them on our Mk4 VW Jetta. I drilled out the old nut-serts, and then installed these with a rivet nut tool (also purchased here on Amazon). It worked great!

Thankful for stainless. As most kits, there will likely be sizes I don't use, but it certainly gives more options for DIY than a bunch of one size. The plastic case was deformed and one of its clasps was broken, so I'll probably have to bag them. Just luck of of the draw in shipping I suppose. Stainless in SAE sizes would be nice but couldn't find any at the time.

I like the fact that these are stainless. The set contains most sizes and is reasonably priced. I used it in place of a stripped hole that holds a shield. I would recommend.

Decent quality, would have been five stars all the way around if I didn’t have to hand sort the sizes of these, as they were all thrown in together.

The rivnuts are stainless. Worked well in compressing into the sheet metal. Was able to use them on a few other projects that are exposed to the elements without worrying about losing my nuts. Time will tell how they hold up to the weather and gripping power. So far, so good!

Not for large base thicknesses.
