Nice Color and Clean Look—Bag Stays Put with Minimal Effort
I use this in the garage and I have been very happy with it. The dark taupe color looks nice and, despite the larger size, it does not visually stand out too much. At the same time, when someone is looking for the trash can, it is still easy to spot. The design holds the trash bag in place well, which improves the overall appearance and keeps the bag from slipping. Replacing bags is simple and does not take much added effort. What I like:Nice dark taupe color that blends in wellLarge capacity, good for garage useBag stays in place and looks cleanerEasy bag changesThings to be aware of:Larger size, best suited for areas with roomOverall:A practical, good-looking trash can that performs well for everyday use in a garage setting. It is a good value for the money.

love this for the backyard!
I've been using this outdoor trash can for several weeks, and it's been a great addition to my patio area. The construction feels sturdy and well-made, and it has held up nicely through sun, wind, and a few rainy days without showing signs of fading or damage. One thing I really appreciate is the size. It holds a surprising amount of trash without taking up too much space, making it perfect for outdoor gatherings, barbecues, and everyday use. The lid fits securely and helps keep odors contained while preventing debris from blowing out on windy days. The design is also more attractive than a standard utility trash can. It blends in well with outdoor furniture and doesn't stand out as an eyesore on the deck or patio.Pros:Durable constructionWeather-resistant materialsSecure lid helps contain odors and keep pests awayAttractive appearance for outdoor spacesEasy to clean and maintainCons:Assembly may take a few minutesLarger trash bags may fit better than standard kitchen bagsOverall:This outdoor trash can combines functionality and appearance really well. It's sturdy, practical, and looks much nicer than a typical garbage can. If you're looking for a reliable outdoor waste container for a patio, deck, pool area, or backyard, this is an excellent choice and well worth the purchase

Best indoor garbage can I have ever purchased.
I have searched for over 9 years to find the perfect trash can. Look no further, THIS IS THE ONE. It looks beautiful in my home, it’s VERY sturdy, and completely contains odors inside. The lid also has a locking mechanism that is incredibly useful if you have nosy pets or young children in the house. My favorite part about it is that not only is it functional, practical, and very sturdy, it looks pretty in my kitchen unlike every other trash can. To make sure it doesn’t move, I placed a little rubber mat under it and it stays put. I did put a standard 13 gallon garbage can insert inside it so that the plastic ridges on the interior didn’t rip my garbage bags, but that’s a personal preference. If the company made a version that a had smooth interior, this would be the best trash bin in the world!!! Either way, I’d definitely buy this again.

A Recycling Hideaway
These have turned out to be perfect for my household recycling. Most of the recycling bins I saw online weren't very inconspicuous and the size per price ratio was way more expensive at the time than using one of these. So I sold myself on getting some of these Hideaways for my recycling. They seemed a bit pricy at first, but I didn't see much price variation between similar items - or even between Amazon and my local home stores. I did purchase two of these at Home Depot during a daily deal sale. The ones from HD didn't have the wicker pattern at the top, but they are virtually the same otherwise. I think the wicker pattern is pretty and adds a bit more to look at than the plain containers I got from HD, but for the price I'd go with the cheapest I could find. The last one I purchased was from Amazon Warehouse (likely a return from someone) to save a few bucks. It was sold as used, but looked new minus a bit of dust.At first I was a bit worried when I unpacked these, because the material seems to be cheap and flimsy. However, once they are put together, they are pretty freaking solid. I really like the slide lock on the top (see the pictures for lock engaged vs unengaged). I lock the top part of the lid and lay them down when I transport to my recycling center to prevent spillage. If the whole lid locked, I'd love to transport them upright instead, but I'll take what I can get with these. The assembly is pretty straightforward, but the directions aren't exactly specific and none of the pieces are labeled (not that it is hard to identify them anyway). Start with the bottom, add the sides to the bottom snapping two sides parallel to each other until you have all four sides in, add the top, and you're done. The 'snapping' part of the assembly can be a bit of a challenge, but is completely doable if you have a little bit of strength or weight to leverage. I liked to push one side in and then use my weight to make sure the sides snapped together all the way and rotate the box as I snapped each panel together. The lid was the most trouble to snap on, as one of the pieces always seemed to be off a bit. Even with that little annoyance I had this thing assembled in under 15 minutes.I don't use any bags inside, so I haven't experienced the bag frustration that many people seem to have. If you plan on using this with bags, I suggest reading some of the reviews (one reviewer was kind enough to post a fix for a ripping issue). I do wish this had a better carrying method as it seems the only way to carry it without the lid popping off is to grab it from front to back, which can be a bit awkward for the height impaired. But, I'm not faulting it since I don't think it was meant to be transported the way I'm using it.Overall, I am really happy with these Hideaways. They are great for recycling. I'd buy again if I had a need for some more.

Not just for outside, but stylish for your kitchen too
I would have given it 5 stars, but the tape they used which is brownish, left a permanent dye marking on the white outer side of lid in the front and back. It was overall fast to put together with the instructions being very detailed. There was also one panel that is slightly bowed which makes it hard to put the lid back on when you need to remove trash bag. I hope over time it will straighten out, but we will see. The trashcan looks very nice with that vintage style rattan design. I'm planning on using it in my kitchen so I don't have to take out trash every other day like with my smaller trash can. The square shape is alot easier to fit in the kitchen instead of a big round 30 gallon trash can and this looks more stylish. I plan on buying another just like this one for outside. Also the slide lock on top is easy to unlock and is nice if you have a pet that likes to get in the trash :)

Update:Use 2 bags (one permanent as a liner) to prevent bag tearing upon removal.
NEW ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING THE PROBLEM OF FULL BAGS RIPPING WHEN REMOVING:I've added more information, but the bottom line is that if you use 2 bags, 1 as a liner and 1 for trash, it would most likely solve any issue with a bag full of trash tearing while removing it from the bin. Here is sort of, condensed version of, yet again, one of my short stories about this trash bin.The 2nd bin (a different color) that we purchased in 2018 still sits on our patio in about half of day in full Arizona sun (over 100 degrees for 145 days in 2020) and STILL looks and functions like new. The dark brown bin (in photo) purchased in 2013, still looks and functions like new, and sits in the garage corner safely storing garden tools and other small outdoor garden/patio suppliesAfter a couple of pool parties we had 2 very heavy and overfilled bags tear when trying to remove them from the bin, even with the very thick bags we use. I decided to try using one bag as a liner. It works perfectly. The same "liner" bag has been in the bin for about a year now, and the 2nd (top) bag slides out perfectly, no matter how stuffed with trash. We still use the the very thick, heavy duty trash bags sold by Amazon. The cost is now $26.97 for 100 thirty-three gallon bags. The only down side is that they do not have drawstrings, but do include twist ties for closing. They now they offer a clear bag, which I find useful for not only trash, but also for storing large comforter sets, boxed items like books and Christmas decorations, etc., for an added layer of protection.. These bags are thicker than all the national name brand bags. The site doesn't include the thickness, but their bags are much thicker than any of the big name brand bags we have tried. If interested, type this into the search bar: 33 Gallon Trash Bags (100 Count w/Ties Value Pack), Large Black Garbage Bags 30 Gallon - 32 Gallon - 35 Gallon.PREVIOUS REVIEW:The photo I have posted, taken today, is of a 5 year, 4 month old Suncast Outdoor Trash Hideaway, which I purchased from Amazon in April, 2013. Since that time the bin has been sitting on my covered patio in an area that faces the morning sun until at least 11:00 to noon during the long summer months, with temperatures of 90-100 degrees, or higher. Our town requires that all trash be bagged, so we put a 33 gallon trash bag in the bin. Each day we empty the trash bins from the house into the bag in the Suncast bin. When the trash bag is full we take it out to the large containers provided by the town that are stored behind our house, usually twice a week. I am writing this review now because we recently purchased a 2nd Suncast bin when we found that they also come in a lighter (beige?) color, which matches the patio colors, block wall, etc., and blends in better than the dark brown. HOWEVER, our more than 5 year old Suncast bin is STILL in nearly perfect condition. The photo shows that it is kind of dirty/dusty right now because we have had several monsoon dust storms in the last few days, but we normally hose it off once a week and it cleans up like new. It is also almost waterproof. It can be hosed off without water getting into the trash bag. When we have had severe storms where the rain has come down very hard and sideways there have been a couple of times where a little water got into the bag in the bin. The ONLY thing wrong with this bin, which was my fault, is that the plastic/rubber hinges partially broke when I knocked it over while the cover was open. However, it has in no way affected the way it seals the top. While I normally would not write a long review about a product designed to hold trash, I do feel that the quality and design of this product at such a reasonable price deserves to be acknowledged. Because the top provides a pretty good seal we can have the bin near our back door without attracting dozens of flies. We will use the old bin, which will fit neatly into a garage corner, for storing smaller garden items-trimmers, small shovels, etc. I believe this product will be around long after we're gone :)

Great outdoor garbage can
This outdoor garbage can has been great! It’s sturdy, durable, and holds a lot more than I expected. The material feels strong enough to handle being outside in all kinds of weather without cracking or tipping over easily. The lid fits securely, which helps keep everything contained and keeps animals out—huge plus. It’s also easy to clean and doesn’t trap odors as much as my old can did.Overall, this is a simple but very reliable garbage can that gets the job done. Great quality for the price, and I’d definitely recommend it!

Easy to put together and very sturdy
It looks just like the photo. I am 83 and had no trouble putting it together, albeit I shouldn't have done it it the kitchen. Not enough room to lay it out so I had room to walk. I can't speak to its endurance, since I assempled it several months ago and it has been outside through snow, rain and sun. Grading evaluation (via a former teacher): Neutral color A, Sturdiness A, Bag hold C, Dog Protection (for what not sure as I don"t have a dog), but where I have it located between potting table and BBQ I think only a very determined dog would try to help themselves of food scraps IF I were to use it for that. I'd be more concerned about deer so would not put food scraps in it anyway, so grade A for functionality. Regarding the Bag Hold grade (C), I think mfgrer should consider that not many will subscribe to your brand of bags so might consider ways to hang drawstring kitchen bags. I "gerryrigged" my afore mentioned bag type using large binder clips and brought the drawstring around the lid. Also, If you live in a windy climate as I do, I dropped some 8" X 8" floor tiles in the bottom for extra weight. A manufacturer wouldn't want the extra weight in shipping charges. Write your name on the inside so if it blows away, your good neighbor might bring it back, or the not-so-good neighbor might hide it in their garage or basement. We have enough wind gusts at 50 mph, especailly overnight to early morning so I added more weight and keep it between two hardy windbreakers. Would love to send photos but the process is not user friendly. I'm a drag and drop from my iPhone kind of person.
