Video quality is excellent. Maybe I did not read the fine print carefully, but there is no audio from the HDMI port.... pity. I wonder if i got a defective product or is there not supposed to be audio conversion from any MiniDisplay Port from a MBP 5,5 model (2010 )...

Sometimes audio wouldn't connect but that's probably on my computer and not the cable. It's a little stiff as far as cables go

The adapter connects from my Thunderbolt slot on my older MacBook Pro to the HDMI cable connected to my Acer monitor which i use for my Dell work computer. At first i got a picture that came and went and then only got a nice clear picture of the Sierra desktop picture but no content. Not a hardened mac user as i only use it for personal use but played around and got it to work perfectly. On my Mac I went to the display icon at the top and opened display preferences i then turned mirroring on under Arrangement tab. I am so happy as now i can display my pictures on my monitor. Wahoo!! Such a cheap and easy enhancement to my Mac. Hope this is helpful to others.

This product could be improved by making it a smaller, one piece unit with no whip.

This works great for my surface pro 3. We set up a 9' x 16' movie screen on the back of our garage and needed a portable way to watch movies with a projector. I have both a surface and a surface pro 3. This cable will only fit the surface pro 3, not the original surface. The cable is only a few inches long and I connect my surface to the projector with this adapter and a standard HDMI cable. I have not noticed any kind of picture lag, and as far as I can tell the picture is as clear as a projector can get. I have also used it to connect my surface pro 3 to my Harmon Kardon stereo to watch my surface on the TV. I haven't had it for very long but so far I can say that it is a quality adapter at a very good price. I can't wait to go watch more movies and I love being able using my surface to its full potential.

Purchased this dongle to offset my 3 monitor load on my surfacebook i7 with surface dock and a star tech mini display port to 3 hdmi connections. My problem was I could not get all 3 monitors to display consistently, one monitor would always turn off and on for 2 seconds or so. I did everything found on the internet for display / monitor issues and nothing worked... finally spent the money on this adapter plugging it into the empty mini display port on my surface dock and plugging one of the 3 monitors into this adapter and everything is working perfectly now! Anyone else having this issue, don't waste your time, buy this adapter and be done with it!! My setup now includes the star tech mini display to 3 hdmi but only having two plugged in to it while the 3rd monitor plugged into this adapter!

It works well so far but well have to see how it goes. I had some trouble setting the display up but that was because of the OSX updates the display options have changed where they are located and its been years since I used an external display. Mirrors well and extends the display without any flickering like the cheap piece of crap I bought for 4 bucks many years ago. I would recommend this for anyone interested for Mac. Note that there are some models of Macbooks and such that will not output audio on the display port but its not a cord issue that will be a your computer is old issue. Check your model on apples website if your unsure. [...]

This is a great Mini Display port to HDMI Adapter. I am using it to have a multi-monitor setup with my laptop computer, and it is working great. This adapter passes through all the information, including the model number of the display connected (no more "Generic PnP Monitor").Overall build quality is great and I expect it will continue to function for years to come.

It’s simple plug and play. I did have the option to go more larger than 1920x1080 and I was quite impressed given my laptop was released in 2014. Solid build quality and I highly recommend purchasing this!
