I would give this a 4.5 or 5 honestly, if the metal didn't fall out of the handle so often; yes, it makes it easier to clean, but it also makes it harder to use as a rasp for clay. I think this is the perfect rasp/bulk reductive tool for clay, but when the metal constantly falls out - gets a bit annoying. I just throw on a bunch of JnB Weld and assure that it doesn't happen again. Yes - it makes it easier to clean, but I'd rather it be a more permanent piece - and at such a cheap price - why not? If you're using it for clay or plaster - you can leave it overnight in a bucket and it'll clean itself.
