I have been in the Security installing industry for over 43 years, so I know value and quality. I don't sell these to customers because the don't cost enough to make money on them! All electronics come from overseas today so the quality is nearly the same given the same specifications. This camera performs out of it's price range. Day/night pictures are good. The area I put it in was lit so I do not know how the IR is, but most are average anyways in this price range. It has Multi format, WDR, BLC, EXIR, and Black lens(less bugs). If you don't know what these mean don't worry they are good ! Installation was Okay, you do need a box or a big hole (@1") to put the joystick through. My only issue was screwing the retention ring on was hard due to fine threads, it is hard to start it without cross threading it. maybe they could fix this but it's not a deal breaker as most are this way. View the pictures for your self, connection was to a Speco D16VT DVR, no issues there either. I will update this review as I am going to replace a few more 960H cameras and I will update as to any failures in the future.

I placed this camera on my front porch, there is a roof and landing so shadows are a bit of a issue. But the overall picture is very clear and very wide viewing angle. I would recommend this camera at pretty much any price.

These cameras are really good quality. I thought I was going to be cute and buy the ones on Ebay that were $10.00 cheaper and look just like these. I'll tell you there is a huge difference in the two. HDview has such a better picture (True 1080p). They also have a OSD, which allows you to make a lot of adjustments if needed digitally. The Ebay cameras didn't have this. They were plug & play and hope for the best!!.... I've contacted HDview multiple times via email with questions, because I'm new to the newer style cameras like this, and I've always received a response back in a reasonable amount of time.(2) I love the WDR feature on these cameras too. If you have darker rooms like me that are hard to view during the daytime hours. You can go into the settings and open the WDR feature. It makes everything nice and bright in darker rooms.

Using this camera in 960H mode. Very clear image, even at distance. IR night view is less than daytime but this is to be expected. For the price point a really nice camera. Works wonderfully on my older coax analog system and is a big upgrade from cameras that were purchased only 2 years ago. Hope the reliability will hold over time. Only con concerns the seperation of camera and body mount. The design could be improved but this does not detract from the function and image provided by this little surveillance gem. Will update in a few months as the camera is exposed to harsh weather and UV conditions in the southern Florida climate.

Cameras OK for the price may be a tiny bit sharper than the one I had before . Not much to speak of. I’ve had it up about two weeks now and its flickering every once in a while.. Night vision and low ligh ok no color, same as the one from Samsung I had before.

This was purchased to add on to my Night Owl HD DVR and when I originally bought it, I had some defective issues. Luckily, I was able to replace it and the new one was flawless. Not much else to note as I am a satisfied customer.UPDATE:I tried to use the settings to fix some quality issues and doing so made my camera unusable. I tried pressing and holding the left (whichever left may actually be is beyond me because there isn't anything indicating what the correct direction is) and nothing happens. Unplugged and plugged back and still nothing.Tried contacting the seller and just like this camera, nothing. The lack of unclear instructions and no customer support forces me to retract my once 5 star review in hopes that others can use my discrepancy as fair warning.

I was used to bigger size dome cameras, this is half the size of other dome cameras of the same style that I have installed. Great if you want to be less obvious or the space is tight. I am using it in 960H mode until for future proof until the business is able to buy the AHD DVR. Great to be able to switch modes just by switching the switch on the cable. The only bad thing about this camera is that the lens itself is made weird so that if you try to have it centered at a large area, a portion of the image will not look straight, if you try to move the ball itself around, you will have fixed the image but then the side that did look straight does not look straight anymore, it's a fight to be able to get the whole image to look straight but there's nothing you can really do about it unless the camera allowed you to adjust the lens itself, something that other dome cameras let you do.

I recently upgraded my DVR from an old "480" unit to a newer "1080" analog HD DVR and have been slowly upgrading my cameras to match. I use this camera in an indoor location so I can't say anything about how it fairs with weather. The image quality is excellent both compared to my old "SD" cameras and to other brands of HD cameras. The night vision LED's are working well (again, in an enclosed indoor area). The wide angle view doesn't seem very distorted (i.e., doesn't look like it has much of a fish-eye-lense look). All in all, I'm quite happy with this purchase.
