This product works very well, just remember it’s not a filler but it will help you smooth and cover. It doesn’t fill like bondo or spackle for a wall, but the included sanding brick helps smooth it out. I think the paint has a nice weight, not too light or heavy and the sponge applicator lets it go on smooth. I applied two coats, if you look up close you can see that it’s covered BUT if you pull back you can’t tell there was damage to the rim. All in all I’m very satisfied, I like that they include everything you need to make this repair. Definitely cost effective and cheaper than taking it to a rim place for repair. I would recommend this product.

I have a 2012 Scion TC with 220K miles on it. Somehow I stupidly rode along a granite curb with both right wheels, causing major rim scraping and a flat tire. I thought I ruined the right side of my car. But, I replaced the tire for a reasonable price and had my car aligned. What really stuck out was the rim scrapes (more like gouges). The standard rim color for a black Scion TC is charcoal. But, the charcoal in this kit looked too dark. So, I matched the color on the included color chart with the wheels and it looked most like Dark Silver. I really thought this was going to look awful since I did so much damage, but it actually came out great! I just followed the instructions, taped it off, sanded with the sanding block, wiped it with the rubbing alcohol, repeated, and painted, and repeated that as well. I took off the masking tape a couple of hours later and voila! I won't says good as new, but from a distance, you can not tell there is damage.

My daughter scraped up one of the rims on my new Camry. They weren't very deep but the damage was noticeable in two or three areas on the rim. I found the product was easy to use and the color match was good. You might find the masking tape doesn't work well (it kept falling off) but I used blue painter's tape instead. The key is to start slow & thin. Add more paint as needed. Cheaper than a repair shop for sure.

If you can live with it, leave it alone. Otherwise, take it to a professional. If you use this product, it will just make it worse. Now, I’m looking at buying a new rim. The tape they give you to section it off is worthless. It doesn’t stick. It’s very easy to slip when using the sand paper brush. The stuff they give you to brush over is essentially paint, which will not apply evenly. I got it all over the place.

I had originally given this product a poor review as it did not repair the areas it was intended to. Not long after, I received an email asking if there was a way to make things right... such as a refund or replacement in case what I purchased was from a "bad batch". Good (proactive) customer service goes a LONG way, so it's worth mentioning that I was reimbursed as they made my satisfaction a priority.

Works great! Bought it to cover up a few scratches on my rims. I used it on the biggest scratch and the results were amazing. With the supplies provided, I was able to sand down the curb scratch, tape off the desired area, and paint over it. The gloss matches the original paint, glossy black.

The paint is very thin. That is the first thing I've noticed, as opposed to the dealer body paint which is of honey consistency. Also the thickness of the paint on the wheels is a lot greater than on the body of the car. Why is this important, because it affect how you can apply it. I'm having troubles filling very tiny rock chips on the car, but with this paint is easier. My only attempt was on a small, but deep paint chip. I had to apply layer after layer until it got dark outside. Leaving each layer to dry about 20-30 minutes, and applying some more to fill the gap. It was exhausting, but I am pleased with the result. The shade of silver is rather universal, in other words, not a perfect match, but it was very, very close. Looks a lot better than a hole in the paint and seals the hole. And yes, I'm one of those who care how the car/wheels look, without going pathological. I don't accept curb rash, especially since that is due to driver error, but still, stones fly around your car and there is nothing you can do to prevent chips like the one I got. For those instances, this paint pen is a solution. In the end, if you don't stare at the repaired spot, with a magnifying glass, it's not noticeable.

So far it’s a good product, but not wow. The most important part is how you use it, there’s a specific way to apply it, otherwise you won’t get good results. Take your time and follow the instructions carefully for the best outcome.

I used this gloss black rim scratch pen on a couple of minor curb scuffs on my wheels, and I’m really happy with how it turned out. The color match was surprisingly good and blended in well with my factory black rims. You do need to shake it thoroughly and test it first on a piece of cardboard or scrap before applying it directly, but once you get the flow right, it’s smooth. I found that applying in light layers and letting it dry a bit between coats gave me the cleanest finish. It definitely made the scratches much less noticeable — up close you can still tell if you really look, but from a normal distance they basically disappear. I also used it to touch up a small chip on a black trim piece, and it worked fine there too. It’s not a miracle fix for deep gouges, but for light-to-medium scratches, this pen did exactly what I hoped. Just be patient and don’t rush the drying. Great value for under 20 bucks and a good tool to have around for quick touch ups.
